Well he is more solidly built than most pro footballers for a start, so not sure that should be the basis for comparison. You can clearly see definition in the chest, shoulders, lats and quads.
You can compare him to most white dudes in shape because that skin tone doesn’t tend to show definition very well, which is why bodybuilders lather themselves in tan when they do shows or use oil + favourable lighting to illuminate definition on their bodies.
Put him under some down lights and he would be looking jacked and people would be saying how beastly he looks.
You mean in a picture clearly taken under favourable lighting where you can very clearly see the difference in skin tone?
If you actually look at both pics, you can see the shape is very similar in both. The actual size of all the key muscles are very similar, look at the shoulders and chest in particular and even the abdominal region around the obliques. He has quite prominent obliques even in your pic. This makes the waist look ‘fatter’ in bad lighting when it’s actually a great sign of core strength and development.
I could literally go take two pics now with one in daylight and one in my kitchen with downlight and a good shadow and look easily 5% lower in bodyfat. I’m basically the same size as Gyokeres, 6ft 2 and 95kg.
So yeah lighting and picture quality have an effect, it’s ridiculous to even suggest otherwise.
He’s also having a lesiurely stroll on the deck of a yacht in the first pic, completely relaxed and at ease, whereas in the second he’s celebrating a goal with his fists clenched and muscles flexed.
