Viktor Gyökeres | SIGNED

Did we? I don’t remember any bids we sent for attacking players last summer that were rejected. Perhaps my memory eludes me here.

Gyokeres is the opposite of what we have, he wants to score at every opportunity so if Arteta wants to play to his strengths then Odegaard will have to be a lot more dynamic than he has season.

Signing him, as well as a top quality LW, means Saka will have more space and our attack will be far more effective.

If we can get PL runners up and semi finals of the CL with makeshift strikers, then signing a couple of match winners means we should be winning titles rather than watching other clubs do it.

It was bad enough having to tolerate inadequate attacking options like Havertz, Trossard and Merino but another season of this mediocrity would be unacceptable for a title challenging side so get Gyokeres sorted as soon as the window opens.

Is it really that bad??

Check Pool… They have Salah with Gakpo and Nunez.
Didn’t most of us (I did not) believe that Saka is world class and what is the difference in between Kai/Trossard and Nunez/Gakpo?

City has Haaland with Savinho and Foden/Doku, and we doninated them for two consecutive seasons

Wake up .. the difference is midfield.
City win because of their midfield.
Pool win this season because of their midfield (and Salah).

I can’t name a Liverpool midfielder that isn’t Alexis McAllister without google

Szoboslai Gravenberch Jones are good this season, sometimes they push TAA up and he is great in passing

He’s common sense because of what they both bring or rather don’t bring in Sesko’s case

Been discussed at length but he’s really lacking in some key areas which is not what I’d be looking for in an Arsenal striker especially on a win now timeline

It isn’t about being safe, he just doesn’t have as many strings to his bow and I have no time for a project player in such a key position

He is simply currently not the player some believe he is.

21 goals this season, (more than last), is still a good return for a striker as young as him. My gut still says Sesko.

All comps eh including internationals, nice

Bar just keeps getting lower and he isn’t the kind of transcendent talent that warrants it

I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he’s still not a top striker in four years time, far too much projection and I question if some even watch the dude play.

I’m thinking this could be the difference between us…if we sign Gyokeres and he is a star for Arsenal, goals loads of goals and win loads of games, I’ll be happy. I’m not sure you will feel the same about Sesko in that scenario…

I really like this phrasing. Even if you didn’t mean it lol

The title decider against Benfica is on tomorrow.

Someone should watch him :kroenke:

I can bet my left bollock that no one on OA will.

I won’t be, so that increases your chances of your left bollock staying intact.

Ballsy of you to put that out there.

@Pires I noticed it last weekend and wanted to check it out, thanks for reminding me.
Had a look and apart from Lazio v Juve there isn’t anything else on at that time. Handy that my provider got Portuguese football so I won’t have to jump through loops to tune in.

Tell your left bollock to wave his goodbyes to the smaller inferior right bollock.

Plus, the cup final, also against Benfica, is in two weeks :+1:

Quite interested to see how he does both games. Good opposition, a lot at stake. Basically their whole season.

Won’t be able to watch it live, I do have it on my sport package, but just remembered I think have the replay option, somewhere. I might check it :+1:

If anyone is interested what’s he up to these days… :bergkamp:

They really have nice conditions there :martinelli:

If it’s true, then we really do mean business in this window.

But Gyokeres will be close to 100m, so with Zubimendi at around 50m, it doesn’t leave much for a LW unless we can get decent money for the outgoing players.

Although with high earners like Jorginho, Tierney, Sterling, with possibly Zinchenko, Trossard, Tomiyasu or even Jesus, off the wage bill, it will be a bit easier.
