Viktor Gyökeres | SIGNED

Hat-trick with another FK apparently.

I was watching some YouTube comp of his goals, and just about every clip the defense was either in transition, or completely disorganized.

Or it was a penalty.

Gotta give him this at least. Dude’s ball striking is certainly something. It’s very Cristiano-esque where he just doesn’t mess around when the opportunity arises and hits it with everything he’s got.

I do worry quite a bit about the amount of pens he scored and all the goals in transition but there something to work with here even at his age.

I’ve read some articles on him recently and it sounds like he’s obsessed with scoring and working a lot off the pitch.

It’s true he scores a lot of penalties but he also gets more assists than most.

Apart from Isaak, who is often injured and over priced, who is better than Gyokeres that we can realistically get?

Well, he certainly seems more ready for a big move compared to dudes like Sesko and Ekitike.

The last time i got a legit Arsenal top was 2005.

I will get the next home kit with Gyokeres on the back

Answer is nobody.

And Isak funnily enough scores a good deal of his goals in similar ways i.e. in quick transition or counter attack.

That should never be a knock anyway, efficient attacking teams should be looking to attack and put teams to the sword with with quick phases of play, it’s a positive he is able to score in that way.

Plus, let’s just remind everyone how most of football fans in general had big doubts about Haaland funcioning under Pep and his possession football considering he was used to a more dynamic football, where he was using he pace often etc etc.

You could roughly say two of them are similar profiles. I don’t see why Gyokeres wouldn’t work here because he scores a lot of goals in transition. The most importabt thing is whether he’s good enough or not. No one can guarantee anything but I don’t see a safer bet than him (aside Isak) out there.

Plus, you have to look at it from another angle too. With his pace he’ll open opportunities and spaces for us we didn’t have before and should make us better and more lethal in transition. Guys like Havertz or Jesus don’t offer you much in that regard.
We could change our style a bit with him, not because we will be forced to do it, it’s because he could add another dimension to our whole attacking play.

Exactly, Saka is doubled up on by opposition defenders because we have no other forward players close to his level but Gyokeres and a top class winger would make it a lot more difficult to defend against, especially on the break.

Obviously I have a Serie A bias but Retegui and Kean are having great seasons themselves in a more proven league and should be affordable too.

There’s also Lautaro who might be a tougher to get but we’ve seen Inter being open to sell their best players for the right price.

You can’t be recommending Moise Kean for our current needs.

The key is to not over think things really. I think in really simple terms, if you put a certified hitter in this side they’ll eat regardless of style or deep blocks or fit or whatever.

nketiah got goals in this side ffs

He’s got 17 goals in Serie A this season, and he’s not even taking pens.

If you tell me he flopped at Everton, I’ll tell you Gyokeres flopped at every club he played for before Coventry signed him.

I don’t think you believe that yourself.

Would I recommend him for us? No. But there are other strikers out there that are doing well too.
I still think the striker market is quite underwhelming though.

If you’re asking me what I would do is try and sign Isak, if that isn’t possible, settle for someone much cheaper as cover and invest heavily out wide.

Well I kinda agree.
That said I believe we should be able to do both.

If Partey stays, we can invest less heavily in midfield

Ok, who are you thinking for strikers then?
