Viktor Gyökeres (14)

He would’ve been useful after we got the lead.

Apart from that. Merino is the better striker in a context like yesterday where Sunderland defended deep for the majority of the game.

I can see that. For all this depth we supposedly have, we saw no evidence of that yesterday. We’ve been exceedingly unlucky with but I just can’t understand why more subs weren’t made in the dying minutes to relieve the pressure we were absorbing. I’d love to hear Artetas thoughts on that matter.

His only two touches being thar bad control that set up a Merino chance and then following it up with a foul on Sanchez summarised his performance.

In fairness to him though, he may have scored the winner had Timber let the ball go to him in that final chance.

We needed Havertz for this kind of match, not Gyok.

Hoping he is fit to start tomorrow. Be good to see him back and hope he can help unlock the Brentford defence.

We don’t even know if Kai will be the same player anymore after his long term absence; he’s yet to fully recover due to delay in his recovery. Timber is an exceptional exception for someone who’s not only recovered but has hit top gear and without any re-occurring injuries.

Perfect game for Gyokeres. We’re going to control the play and should be creating multiple chances.
