Mate, modern society demand instant gratification. Nothing can be given any time - if it doesn’t deliver now, bin it!
Well, that’s pretty much what Haaland does (Gyok didn’t lose every duel either).
The only guy at a high-level who does both this and can get heavily involved in buidup is Isak and even then he’s becoming more of a box guy lately. You could probably add Dembele but he’s not really an actual striker.
Kai gets involved and wins duels but apparently he’s garbage.
I’m pretty certain our parents said this about us. And their parents said it about them. And so on and so forth. Nothing to do with modernity imo, but I get your point.
Huge pressure on him now to find form and integrate quickly given our slate of league games until the end of September.
It really would have been much better for all involved to have Havertz as an option for some of these tougher games that we may have trouble controlling and for which we’ll need to be as sharp as possible out of possession.
It’s kinda wild how there’s more pressure on Gyokeres than there is on every other player who was signed for just as much if not more money.
Is it because of his goalscoring record till now & the surrounding hype?
I wonder how Solanke’s getting on…
Can I get a return on that vest?
With EzE coming in, the only question mark with this squad is whether Gyokeres steps up or not. If he does, Arsenal will definitely have a great season.
Although the defences in the PL are a lot stronger than he’s used to in the Portuguese League, playing alongside quality players like Saka, Eze and Odegaard means Gyokeres is going to get better support and more space, so after a few games he’ll be fine.
I’m very confident this team will create chances. I’m very confident Gyokeres will score chances.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen you so positive. I am now convinced we are winning the league.

This is the best transfer window we’ve had.
We might have waited several seasons but all the gaping holes in our attack have been filled, we’ve got the strongest defence in the PL, both in quality and depth, with a bench that could finish mid table.
It might take a few games to integrate the new players but we can definitely do this.
He’ll score soon enough. A tap-in tomorrow would do, a superb half-volleyed first time shot into the far corner would be great. But he also takes penalties and we’re bound to get one at some point soon.
Gyokeres on his way to the Golden Boot.
BIG BALLS X FACTOR STRIKER IN THE HOUSE
I repeat
BIG BALLS X FACTOR STRIKER IN THE HOUSE
Thank God no 007 meme
Told you Gyokeres is gonna cook for us !?
all he needs is some damn service once in a while instead of backwards and sideways pissing about.
Needed that goal, especially with Kai’s injury.
Someone mentioned it in the matchday thread but it seemed like a weight has been lifted off him when he scored.
Struggled in the first half but already looking much more comfortable in the second half.
When he gets going, nothing will stop him.
Btw, made the goal look just as easy as those goals against Portuguese fisheremen, farmers, hunter gatherers, trappers, mine workers…
The goal is the same everywhere.
Sorting out his hair to pose for the camera after the penalty
