must put strong starting Xl including gyokeres on saturday
I’m still shocked we ended up signing Gyokeres and not someone like Ektike whose profile suits our style of play far more.
Now that we have signed him - Arteta must adapt style of play to Gyokeres.
Would that be the style of play in attack that is shit? It always needed to be changed and improved.
Question how much of Ekitike you’ve watched also.
A change of style or having multiple styles is needed.
Is this guy telling me Gyokeres is not good in movement, leap, and athleticism??
Wtf?
Not really knowing what to make of this. Is Arteta really going to change things just to suit Gyok? Doing that isn’t his M.O. And if he tries to shape Gyok to fit his style, I don’t see that working out too well, either. It’ll be the square peg in a round hole kind of thing, and it risks pissing the guy off, and his performance reflecting that. Not wanting to look too deep here at the moment - early days. But this could get interesting.
ekitike 95m euro at the same time we need buy more player for other position so buy ekitike will waste a lot money especially considering we are not great selling player now
Yep
Gyokeres is the first big name attacker Arteta has bought apart from Jesus, so if we also get Eze it means he has to integrate them into our attack, which won’t be easy because he wants players to play in his system rather than to their individual strengths.
He has to look at what makes players like Gyokeres and Eze such dynamic and efficient attacking players and adapt the rest of the team to play to their strengths, rather than trying to shoehorn them into his horseshoe style of play, otherwise he might as well stick with Havertz, Martinelli and Trossard.
he was anonymous yesterday
The pro/con of this move is that this move ‘should’ ask more or to provide a slightly different way of playing and supporting his #9. Unlock that and we have a goal scoring machine. We don’t have long to implement ways in which players make connections to him and that’s not a linear thing of just plop these good players together and automatically it equals good.
Arteta probably had in his mind that Sesko comes this summer, after many months/years monitoring him where he wouldn’t have to tweak his style so much. The Berta-pivot for Gyökeres has thrown a spanner in the works but you would imagine that someone like Mikel has the ability to flip the script.
True. And getting Gyokeres instead of Sesko might be a blessing in disguise that Arteta might be forced to change his tactics a bit, which were getting a bit predictable tbh.
Only saw the highlights and I loved how looked in those few runs and dribbles he made. Such a large guy shouldn’t move like that and have such footwork. Looked freaky on a few moments.
We need to find a way to utilise his strengths not waste time on his weaknesses. There’s a world class player there.
Getting Eze would help massively. He loves to stab in those through balls when he cuts in from the left.
Very early days. Can’t wait to see him once he’s bedded in and fitter. Also looking forward seeing him play when we have our strongest midfield playing. Hopefully Saturday.
Didn’t watch the game but looking forward to seeing him in action when the actual season starts.
For our own sake, think we shouldn’t hype him up too much so that we aren’t disappointed if he doesn’t come out of the blocks flying.
Anyways, expecting a hattrick at Old Trafford.
too late for this…some even have the pitchforks out after a friendly ![]()
Will probably need being sold before the deadline if he doesn’t score 6 at Old Trafford ![]()
I’m hyping the fuck out of Gyokeres. Too far in now. When he nets his first goal for us competitively, you had better believe that every rival fan in my phone book is going to know about it.
The Great White Hope - Viktor GLOCKeres.
Limited time training, been on holiday whilst the transfer saga was playing out and barely had a touch yesterday. Still managed two shots on target though.
I have no doubt that he will be a hit.
