As a club we tend to take longer than most others to get deals done.
Liverpool have just bought a couple of top European attacking players for around 100m each and we’re still waiting for our first team attacking signing since Jesus.
Gyokeres is a great signing and we’ll probably get it done soon but unless we get at least a LW as well, this window will be barely adequate.
Ben Jacobs was essentially suggesting that it isn’t the amount of add ons, but what they relate to and how realistic they are. Seems very minor in the scheme of things.
There have been plenty of instances where we wrapped deals quickly.
Madueke and Norgaard just this summer.
At the end of the day, there are multiple parties involved and if one of them isn’t playing ball you can’t do much.

I think we announce Mosquera and get the here we go for Gyokeres tomorrow, with a medical on Monday and announcement on Tuesday.
The way I see it, the main issue here is that Sporting considered Gyökeres a much more expensive player, 80 - 100m. They can feel justified here based on what premier clubs have paid for similar rated players. We have haggled and the player has assisted us in this.
Sporting are saying fuck you to both Arsenal and Gyökeres, delaying it all to inconvenience both parties and pinch a tiny bit more because the
president feels insulted.
We are getting our player, they are just being cunts.
We are haggling to be able to make other moves. Our squad needs more different players than Liverpool’s does.
Arsenal are different, and it makes us a poor seller. If a player says they want to leave, we immediately facilitate it.

Seems like it. Though all the major reporters were saying it was all done last weekend, and now there is no movement/tensions for a whole week.
I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if we pulled out - even at this advanced stage. Cause Sporting are being cunts beyond measure.
I just hope we don’t re-open conversations with Leipzig about Sesko if this fails through.
