Viktor Gyökeres (14)

Would love to see a front three of Trossard, Eze and Saka tested but feel that’s unlikely

Instead of heading the ball forward or letting it come down and kicking it forward to run onto this genius decides to try to control it on his chest, giving the defender enough time to recover.

Now even his brain is coming into question.

One non-penalty goal in his last 16 league games.

With a record like that, he should be the one being dropped from the matchday squad.

Even putting the terrible record aside, his playstyle is completely unsuited to us. He’s even passing up the kind of chances he thrived on at Sporting.

It’s a shame it hasn’t worked out, but it’s time to be ruthless.

The stylistic thing is massive and it’s one of the reasons why the club was high on Sesko’s profile.

Everyone was banging on that we absolutely must get Gyökeres because he scored loads of goals in the league he was in and thought that would be enough to be a success in this league/team. Proper dumb takes being spouted like it was going to be a sure thing.

Looks like our second option signing isn’t paying off ala Trossard.

I thought he looked better in these last two games (Forest+Chelsea) with this in mind.

Genuinely thought he’d put away that chance when he had the run straight in at goals. Then, I forgot that we are Arsenal and not Sporting Lisbon’s.

So piss poor. Saudi, please do us a favour this summer, because I don’t need to see someone who makes Marouane Chamakh look accomplished for another year.

There was always a chance this move wouldn’t work out, and so it is looking as things stand. Shit happens though. Can’t sit crying about it. Move him on in the summer and get someone else suited to our style in.

I don’t know what the bigger challenge would be, Arteta getting the best out of him or Berta moving him on this summer.

Berta will get some Italian club to take him off our hands. Loan with an option to buy.

He’d slap for AC Milan tbf

Why do you think that? I can’t think of a single striker who’s gone from England to Italy and done much better numbers wise?

Goal was class, but it’s the way Gyok used his physical presence to own the space that was more encouraging.

I think our attack looked more dangerous allround since he came on.

Just me?

This is why it might be good for him to come in as a sub for a while.

Let him come on with a purpose, fresh against tired defenders and build some confidence.

Sure it would’ve happened more if the other two weren’t crocks.
