Unai Emery

Yes for sure. He needs 2 seasons at least IMO. One to get his playing style across to the current squad and 4 windows to get his players in/out. Then judge.

Unfortunately i did, and now im permanently brain damaged

We wont fail winning against the spammers lol ! Easy win for the lads.

Dunno about 2 seasons but surely I’ll start worrying if we don’t win against an also new West Ham.
The good thing is that we could do without Europe next year given the Adidas deal.

Only dickheads won’t be tbh…

Nonsense. European football is one of the best parts of the season

I didn’t read beyond “Mail Online”

asking this after 3 games smh…would you like it if your predecessor of your job left the company in a state and it was years of absolute neglect, then you come in knowing what needs to be done and then within 1 week your being questioned and they are thinking of abandoning what you want to do? Anyone that does that are just plain stupid he will need a good season at least to get things anywhere near sorted out with playing styles and even longer to sort the squad.

Football 365’s Mediawatch has a nice reply to the Daily Mail…

Jeff Powell writes that ‘the wolves are howling for the heads of Premier League managers and August is not yet out’ in his Daily Mail column. When did ‘the wolves’ become a synonym for ‘the tabloids’?

When Arsenal appointed Emery, chief executive Ivan Gazidis said the club “conducted a confidential, wide-ranging and rigorous search involving extensive background references, data and video analysis, and personal meetings with all the candidates we shortlisted. All were interested in the position and we were unanimous in our choice of Unai to drive the next chapter of our history”.

That certainly sounds like a club that will sack a manager after they failed to beat the two most recent Premier League champions in their opening fixtures.

Mediawatch would never recommend placing much stock in the words of Powell, who claims Arsenal supporters ‘are looking askance already’ at the new manager. They really aren’t; they recognise what he is trying to do and accept it will take time.

It is the media who are questioning Emery – as Powell proves – and there has been a strange attempt by many journalists to point towards fan disgruntlement where there is none. Powell, Tony Adams and Sam Allardyce are the ones constantly asking what Emery has been doing for the last six weeks. To their credit, the supporters are being a little more patient.

It took several seasons for Wenger to try and sort out the mess he himself made, so Emery should be given this season and the following transfer window at least to see things start to change for the better.

If any of the top clubs are going to get rid of their manager it will be Man U.

Mourinho seems to have lost the dressing room, especially his most expensive signings, as well as a lot of the supporters, who don’t like the style of football he plays, so he is far more likely to go than Emery.

Poch, Klopp and Pep all struggled to get their teams playing how they wanted during their first season. Man Utd still haven’t recovered from losing Ferguson.

The idea that Emery could change things so quickly is naivety of the highest order.

Bang on . How the fuck does anyone honestly think that UE is going to undo all the hidden decay that is beneath the starting eleven after 2 games .
Can you imagine the out pouring of hate if Wenger was still in charge and we had lost the first two games , especially if he had been very inactive in the transfer window .
What has impressed me is Unai coaching from the touchline . We’ve not witnessed that for decades. Emery will turn things around , that’s for sure .

Even Wenger at his lowest ebb was consistently beating teams like West Ham at home, pressure will mount if we fail to beat the Hammers.

Everyone needs to fck off and give UE two seasons at least. Fckn tabloids trying to deflect the shit goin on at Utd !! Utd lovin rags !!

Yes it would be fucking retarded logic to talk of sacking him if we lose to West Ham. However we live in a 24/7 media football bubble and their will be talk of is he the right man and all that shit.
No manager should be under threat after 3 games, but it happens all the time now. Plenty on here reckoning that Mourinhio is on his way out after 2 games.
Id not rule anything out anymore in football. As much as I want to think Emery gets a couple of seasons and transfer windows to set his stamp on the side, the game doesnt move like that now. Logic and patience are the first victim of football now.
Not so many years ago the first league table was not shown in the press till 3 games in. We had one after united won on the friday night game this season.
I guarantee if we lose saturday there will be people on phone ins, forums and in the press saying we have the wrong man.

Yeah granted but its one ioss out of 2 games. Plenty of the same people would start going overboard if he won 3 on the bounce. Its the nature of the beast in todays bubble.
