holy shite what a troll magnet two losses in a row is going to be, better hide for a while lol
Sigh.
Have to say, I’m not sure where this obsession with 5 at the back has come from, we didn’t even build this run we had using it (Not saying we played great, but we aren’t playing better either), Surely a Holding injury doesn’t cause this dramatic of a change, I thought it was originally to play Lacazette and Aubameyang up front, but he doesn’t do that either so I’m scratching my head on that one.
I know Emery likes rotating a lot, and that’s fine, but this is too much tinkering.
Absolutely. It only takes one to ruin it with negativity.
I don’t agree with it either, but I think he’s spooked by how poor we are in that department and wants to try and be as solid as possible.
I’ll be astonished if we see it once we have more quality there.
I know big signings mean a lot to a football club however, given the level we’re at right now, I feel it leaves a lot to be desired for when you know the money they’re on and the kind of performances they churn out each week. I certainly can take a bruising to my pride to admit that we’re nowhere near the level to challenge for major honours yet, which in turn makes the possibility of landing big players a hardship. I think we need to step back in terms of who and what we should look for in future signings.
We should be making astute signings in the mean time to build something of a functioning outfit for a change. I feel like we’ve been left with too many out-of-sorts players that really make the team feel bloated. Kola for example, on £100K+ p/w, bought as a LB but isn’t so easily defined as one. Özil, no advanced position that he can truly nail down yet is on big wages. Mhki, haha. Iwobi, peripheral 1st team winger that can’t rack up goals/assists because he’s a mish-mash of 2 different players.
I really feel like we need some basic players that fit the correct positions. Not ones that ‘can do a job here and there’. A LB who can defend first and then be worked on to improve his attacking output.
We need to look at building our team as a system first and then talisman/world class players afterwards, if we’re going to start truly making a name for ourselves again.
It’s strange we already have factions for for-and-against with Unai. Thing is, no one knows the outcome of the future, you just have to trust that the club has implemented the right people along with a football (Sanners/Daddy Vik/Radiohead chap) structure that is still in it’s green years of working
Anyway this isn’t the worst thing in the world, let’s see how we handle a bit of adversity during crunch time, this will blow over if we get back on track.
It’s hard to say what’s more important right now, a winger or a CB.
Obviously we can and should look into both in January. Would anyone take a flier on Pepe? He just canceled his contract with Besiktas (they’re having money issues).
Neither is really more important than the other, it’s just simply imperative that we got top players in both positions.
Controversial but I think CM is more important than a CB, If one of Xhaka or Torreira goes down, our options is a 19 year old kid and a Egyptian midfielder that no one rates and would be an travesty if he stays here any longer than the coming August. Mustafi is back soon so we’ll have Sokratis, Mustafi, Koscielny, not anywhere close to the greatest, but serviceable enough.
Winger -> CM -> CB in terms of priority imo, actually I would say LB is more important too, Monreal’s age is catching up to him and I don’t know if Kolasinac has it in him long term considering the resources spent on him.
@RockyMaivia We could force Ramsey to play that roll for a little bit couldn’t we? A midfield of Ramsey, Torreira and MG wouldn’t necessarily be a disaster. I’d even consider moving Iwobi or Mhki into midfield.
We absolutely need a CB and a winger imo in January or top 4 isn’t looking on at all, and I agree on the LB situation. Kolasinac simply isn’t a left back and I don’t know why anyone ever thought he had the defensive attributes to even be considered a wingback let alone a fullback. Monreal is also coming to the end in the near future I think, and I’ve been a huge fan of his so I’m not going to enjoy that.
Xhaka at CB is dumb. It just is. Defending ain’t his game and he has proven it time and time again.
Either try Monreal who has covered that spot a lot before or Elneny who did quite a good job last season. Stop messing around. Having Xhaka and Torreira in for the sake of it is not smart.
Some people saying that Emery is doing this because Emery knows we need a centre back but the board doesn’t wanna buy one or loan in January and he is pushing them trying to show what little he has to work with.
If the board can’t see this without him doing that then they are even worse than I thought, and that’s pretty fucking bad.
Right now I really hate Emery and I’m gonna like every post Abou made. Gonna regret it in the morning but who cares now?

LOL you have some nerve on you.

Of course you have to extend your reply clause you knew you sound like a right dick for no reason

No you reply was shorter mate.
But whatever couldn’t give a give a shit really what you think; keep being a dick if it makes you better
You have not refuted his point in fact you proved it. Saying someone’s point is irrelevant to a conversation because it’s not agreeing with your view is disrespectful. So the sections you highlighted in bold calling sham a dick for being disrespectful is not a sign of contradiction to what he said. I’m sure there is other example on there somewhere him and jakeyboy are always bumping heads

Saying someone’s point is irrelevant to a conversation because it’s not agreeing with your view is disrespectful.
