UEFA Champions League

Salah silently dropped a stinker.

PSV scored 3 in 8 minutes to come back from 2-0 to Shakthar

How have they conceded only 1 goal in this comp as well, their defence isn’t even good ffs.

Goal ruled out for Villa

Nice

PSV’s first couldn’t have been more scruffy but the second what a strike.

Di Maria now two assists away from breaking Ronaldo’s CL assist record.

If we get to a final I’d prefer it be against Liverpool than Real.

Bradley is looking like a ready made Trent replacement if he leaves for me

I think we’ve put ourselves in a great position to secure a Top 8 spot.

Think another 5-6 points out of the next 3 may be enough it. We should probably win all 3 though to be certain.

5 points feels like it would be a bit of a disaster especially since two of our games are at home.

There are 17 teams who can overtake us if we only pick up 5 points, 16 teams if we pick up 6. Only two of them need to have a decent run to knock us out of top 8.

Some teams behind us like Bayern have three gimmes basically.

Does this factor in some of those teams playing each other?

The majority of these fixtures wouldn’t look out of place in the Europa League

No it doesn’t.

For example Brest (10) play PSV (8) next and Sporting (10) play Brugge (7).

Even if both PSV and Brugge win it’s then unlikely that Brest, Brugge or Sporting will all win their last two games AND overturn their GD deficit to us when we win 2/3 of our own games and take 6 points.

It’d be too complicated to calculate all the possible outcomes at this point and while taking only 5 does put us more likely out the top 8, it would be more than enough to qualify. I think 3 points will have us guaranteed in the playoff.

We’ve also got good chance to move up next game if we win. Barca play Dortmund, leverkusen play Inter and Madrid play Atalanta

I have us as already guaranteed that albeit not mathematically of course.

Have to say I have changed my view about Liverpool after the last night game, they looked so good.

They’re so fluid, their shape is great, they are finding positions so easily, sretching the opponent and creating gaps so easily.

They actually look weirly similar to last season and I have to give credit to both Klopp and Slut at the same time. Klopp obviously deserves a lot of credit because this is almost the same lineup from the last season (I think Gravenberch is the only major change), and style is very similar… But Slut deserves a lot of credit too, because I think you have to be a top manager just to acknowledge what’s already there in your team and not try to invent some crap while you already have a great structure and some foundations.

I think they maybe look even more fluid than last year, maybe a touch less aggressive and intense in their pressing, but, again, super similar to last year. I was expecting a big drop off when Klopp left, didn’t see this coming. Slut is the real deal.

Seems we will have to battle it out against these cunts again… A small (very small lol) part of me is happy because even if City die we will have to beat proper top competition to win the title this year. Wouldn’t be completely happy to win it with no competition.

Just looking ahead at some of the upcoming fixtures, I’d say Liverpool, Inter, Dortmund, Bayern, Milan(despite the bad start) and us are grabbing a Top 8 spot.
