There’s a method to Trump’s madness. Greenland could be very valuable to the US economically and militarily, it makes sense as part of the America first agenda to go for it.
Trump has always used economic leverage to force geopolitical realignment. The “force” element is just a bluff really.
Bigger question is if Trump goes hard on tariffs does europe and others have the balls to respond? What can you do about it? You’re best hope is domestic pressure on Trump to force change but that starts effectively in 2026.
You’re giving him too much credit. He effectively thinks and behaves like a mob boss.
Whenever he makes inane threats like invading allied countries it’s a simple extortion threat.
“Shame if something were to happen to you. You should pay me for protection”.
He did this to varying degrees during his first term with the Saudi’s, Israelis on quid pro quo basis. The difference now is there is no ‘quo’ it’s just quid or I’ll break ya legs.
He let’s his minions run their own corrupt rackets to the extent that he gets a taste also.
