Transfer Wishlist

You’re all going to become Zubimendi converts if we sign him! Very simply, we need Rice AND Zubimendi next season. Merino remains a versatile option for our midfield being able to play No.6 or No.8.

My wishlist remains Sesko, Zubimendi, a backup GK…and a new winger. I’d still love Musiala, but I am becoming more and more obsessed with Wirz given his versatility across the attacking line. Ideally I’d love both, but not sure we could stretch that far in the summer, particularly as it seems likely that we will need to also sign a defender to replace the likely departures of Zinny and Kiwior.

we are stretched for these already

Based on our financials we have circa £160m to spend on transfers atm. Likely to rise in the summer. Plus we will sell some players too and with players leaving we will also free up some of our wage bill. Sesko and Zubimendi are both circa £50-60m. A backup GK is £20m max. We can absolutely spend big on a winger. Either Musiala or Wirz are realistic IMO.

Show your workings please

you know we don’t live in an ideal world…
also, there are some assholes (or motherfuckers) will show interest on our targets to raise the price.
If we are telling people that we are looking to sign Yaya Sanogo back, possibly someone will try to hijack the transfer.

I’ll say this was my source, rather than AFTV!

Arsenal given £164m PSR transfer update as failed Ollie Watkins bid exposes ‘monster’ reality - football.london

True but Zubimendi deal is reportedly advanced already with his release clause of £51m setting a clear benchmark for a deal. Sesko is reportedly available for circa £60m in the summer. That leaves plenty of wriggle room to negotiate. Plus who wouldn’t want to join Arsenal in the summer?

Thanks. That website has gotten as bad as the telegraph for ads etc these days btw.

could lose as much £164m before tax and still be able to remain PSR compliant.

I wouldn’t agree that this means it’s available to spend in a single summer but other factors will kick in like deals we are finished paying off and sales we make. I could see a commitment of that or more being made for sure. CL money is so important. One season without it and we’ll be selling a prized player.

Davies and Musiala both renewed. Would’ve loved the latter here. Wonder if this affects their long-standing pursuit of Wirtz though.

It’s hilarious that people thought a German international and Europe’s best dribbler was going to leave Germany’s biggest club. Would only ever have been for a Barca / Madrid type move.

Huge news for them and probably made sense for him.

Madrid will come calling in a couple of years but until then they are well set to dominate the league again. Xabi will be off in the next 18 months and nobody else is giving them trouble.

For Bayern? I doubt it

It should, because I can’t really see how they make it work with both. But it’s Bayern pillaging farmers, so who knows.

How do you know this?
How do you define & measure it?

I didn’t say I know anything. I said I can’t see how it would work and that is because I am blind.

If you are blind, how were you able to see that it wouldn’t work?

I said I can’t see how it would work.

but you can see how it wouldn’t. bizarre. If you are blind, you can’t see anything.

:thinking::thinking:

I like how Bavin asks everyone to define & being objective with their posts but fails to do so with his own subjective opinions.

Ok with Musiala now off the table, I say go all in for Wirz in the summer…
