I was unfamiliar with him before he went to Milan. From what I saw early he didn’t look particularly special.
He started standing out towards the end of last season. When Roma faced Milan in the EL, he was head and shoulders their best player.
He had decent Euros too and his form has also carried over into this season.

Oh yes. Very good midfielder with a high technical level. He’d slot right the fuck in.

Worried he’ll move to Man City though.

His brother Rudolph is a very promising player too

It’s ok, I think that’s expected. You probably haven’t seen enough of him.
Playing for Atalanta in the Serie A isn’t exactly a massive platform to showcase your talent.

For me, he’s been one of the best players in Serie A the past 18 months.
I remember saying he’s the best Nigerian in the world(over Osimhen) back in January during AFCON, probably wasn’t a popular take at the time but I think he’s got a good case of being the African footballer in the world right now. It’s between him and Salah really.

Definitely didn’t read his post with enough attention haha

After 18 years of both being on this forum, you had to choose between:

  • me making a serious comment about the player based on my vast knowledge of Serie A
  • me making a stupid pun

It wasn’t tough, let’s be honest

Who’s in there? It’ll be mostly unattainable guys and based on what he’s showing he’s creeping up

He’s definitely an upgrade on what we have, two footed, high IQ, good work rate, can beat players in tight spaces compared to Martinelli who only really does it when in acres of space, good link up.

He’d be a shrewd signing rather than out and out glamorous and sometimes those are the ones that pay off big

How can two people miss such an obvious name
pun :joy:

You’re entitled to your own view on things. I honestly haven’t even watched him play to be honest, I just don’t like his look. Man has something off about him.

I got the Lookman joke but I thought @Bavin was being serious about his point.

Sure

I was being serious, I don’t like the way he looks. Have you seen him smile? Weird teeth. His incisors and canines are fine but he needs to add a molar or two to have that perfect smile.

Out of curiosity @SRCJJ, what do you actually think of Lookman?

System player like most of the Gasperini lot

We need gyokeres, when havertz is not scoring the front line is not reliable for goals. It puts so much pressure on saka.

We can manage with martinelli, trossard and Jesus rotating on the wings, none are good enough but they’ve had to play at the same time due to Odegaard being out. When they were rotating both stayed fresh and played better.

I don’t trust Jesus anymore to do anything other than trip over the ball. We have no real striker.

We need both I think

Martinelli and Trossard aren’t sufficient, need to give teams more to think about on both flanks in terms of execution.

The right side bias to that degree is just not sustainable anymore, been figured out.
