We are not going to get much from Partey, keep him for another year to cover CDM and RB.
Also another year for Jorginho, but release Elneny.
Better let Patino learn a year under these vets to cover the CM position.
I think Jorginho could easily do two more seasons with us, providing he keeps his fitness. Could become an excellent squad player.
Sell Partey to highest bidder and let’s go and get a top quality CDM or CM in January / next Summer.
Patino should be playing in a more advance position.

Serious wheels and seemed to play well off the ball. Doesn’t have many goals in the French league but only 20. The French have some serious talent coming through their ranks.
No guarantees he wouldn’t get injured as a depth player. Like him but lets take what we can get for him.

Honestly this is is the first time in I don’t remember how long that there’s not any specific players I would wishlist at Arsenal.
There’s players I like that I wouldn’t mind here but nobody that I would really push for us to sign.
Probably because our first XI when everyone is fit is just so strong and so well balanced.

I think our starting 11 are strong but not sure City strong. One injury to Rice and we are in the pooh. Can we wrestle Touchameni off RM with their talent loaded midfield or Fofana. Pipe dream most likely but we need another midfielder and striker.

We beat them twice this season already.
There is a max level a team can reach, which City already did. We did a great job to catch up and still not max out our potentials.
Sure, I’m not arguing about depth but our starting XI when everyone is fit is pretty strong imo and I would put it up against anyone in the world:

Well lets hope in the business end of the season this is the case. I just think they are a great back 3, great midfield and striker of significance. I think, while we have been winning, we have become pretty predictable. We have had some underperforming players this year as well (Odegaard comes to mind) and our defense has really kept us in games. I predicted they would smash us last year by 3 and they did. They have Stones coming back from injury and I think their bench generally is stronger.

No doubt they have a better overall squad… But you can only put 11 on the field.

We are not any significantly inferior if just count 16 players. Everything will be down to form, tactics, game management and players’ response on the field when we play against each other.
Unlike in the past, they are heavy favorites and we are heavy underdogs.
Of course, if we can get an additional outstanding player or two that would completely wipe out that tiny margin in between us.
Now, it is just so close, very close.

I agree, and that puts us in a great place because we can now just focus on adding top quality to the squad.
Personally I still think we are short in the LCB position. If we lost Gabriel to injury, I’m not sure that Kiwior is good enough to cover. At RCB we have Saliba, White, Timber, and Tomi. Guehi or Branthwaite would slot very nicely into the LCB position. Also means we have excellent cover for Saliba, with Gabriel being able to take the central role, with White and Guehi / Branthwaite on the other side. This keeps Zinny and Timber free to continue with the inverted role.
In midfield we need to replace Partey with a new CDM or CM. Neves, Zubimendi, or de Jong would all fit our system perfectly, and be able to play alongside Rice.
Then a new striker obviously, but really not sure who is available and who we should be targeting…

We need a RCB to cover Saliba in my opinion. I’m quite high on Kiwior. Plus given Tomis injury history relying on him and white to cover both Saliba and RB between them is the biggest risk.
