Thomas Partey

And they were STILL trying to keep him

Judgement is looking real shitty

Considering there are 3 victims, Partey was surely arrested for initial investigation at-least 3 times.
Why did the legal system keep this lingering for 4 years without a charge?
What evidence could possibly surface 3-4 years post the incident?

Former user of the forum who wouldn’t stop telling everyone he was a lawyer at every opportunity. Not you - don’t worry lol

Not a lawyer myself, but have worked close to lawyers re: medicolegal issues. And I doubt anyone can be arrested 7 times and bailed seven times in such a short duration… But I’m not in the mood for this shit on a fine Saturday. So would be swell if any lawyers could clear this up.

In the UK I think they have a 3 month default period for bail so it’s possible tbh. More likely they just extended it while they continue investigating, doubt he’d be questioned so many times for the same thing.

I got it…don’t worry

Glad we didn’t renew his contract

I can see both sides of the argument in this case. Ideally, the club should have left him out of our playing squad until the matter was resolved, but then there is precedence here with the Mendy case where City did the same and now Mendy is taking them to court.

The way I see it, the club chose to believe him based on the information they had at that time which is that he was accused of rape/sexual assault but no charges were brought forth. However, with this news about him being arrested 7 times coming out, that does look rather bad. In the club’s defence, he was given bail 7 times so obviously the police didn’t have enough on him, and therefore the club didn’t have any reason to change their original position of believing his version of the story.

Wonder what took the police this long to bring charges against him. Anyway, am glad he is no longer associated with the club. Also, we can be sure he won’t be playing in England next season thanks to this.

I don’t think he was arrested seven times. He had his bail extended seven times because it’s only a limited period. That’s on the police and prosecutors for taking over three years to charge the case.

He’s probably been interviewed 7 times down at the nick or forced to show-up at pre-arranged times as part of his bail conditions. It’s difficult to be arrested 7 times for 5 allegations of criminality.

Come on enough with the vagueness, players or the cleaners?

I feel like no-one refers to players as staff, they would clearly state players if that’s what they mean.

I imagine a lot of the Marketing/PR/Finance/Commercial employees etc. is who they’re referring too.

Maybe some coaching staff etc as well

I feel another strongly worded letter coming on. I’m disgusted with my club.

Will you still be disgusted with your club if it happens that he is not found guilty in court?
