He’s just announced on his instagram his new club
So are we believing the shirt or the shorts?
Looks like Zubimendi in, Jorginho and Partey out…

Been one of our best players last season and consistency wise our best midfielder too. Proved he’s still one of the best in that position. Massive blow if this goes as it seems like it is.
I became quite keen on the prospect of him staying so we can ease Zubimendi in.
It is what it is, let’s see if we have a replacement lined up.
If they can’t find someone worthwhile out there, it might be wise to sign a CB/LB, which would then free up MLS to play in midfield when needed.
Forreal Hato - Welcome to Arsenal
Yeah, I think this checks a lot of boxes.
This does free up like 200k in wages, right?
But it’s another blow for Arteta. Lost Nico, lost Cuenca, now losing Partey.
Right move from the club
We’ll get on fine without him
who?
I mean if he isn’t lowering his wages then fair enough.
He was good last season and his value in the squad would have proven to be even higher with Zumbi coming in. Partey would have allowed Zumbi to settle in nicely but also provide much needed depth and experience.
This is a problem because one of our biggest issues was we’d have no bench left half way into the season.
That likely is still going to be an issue barring a injury miracle.
It’s a bad move if we let him go tbh. Sure, we save wages initially but then we are short again and need to pay a fee and wages for a new player anyway.
I don’t think he should lower his wages he’s proven himself to be a key player for us and there’s no incentive for him to drop the money he earns when his performance level and availability has been as good as it was last season.
Can’t see any reason why he should lower his wage at this late stage of his career when he’s still performing at a very high level.
If he leaves we’re short and would need to buy a replacement so it’s not like him leaving is good financially, it’ll just make the window more difficult.
There’s no way he gets higher wages in Italy
maybe gala will give him a crazy offer but they just did that to sane already.
Surely Saudi is an option if he wants the bag.
I don’t mind a pay increase on a 1 year deal but on muliti year it would be stupid.
It’s not a one way street either. You can play for Arsenal and compete at the top end of the PL and CL or fuck off to shitty eurotrash league or Saudi for money
Just increase his wages and give him a 2 year deal ffs. Need him around while Zubemendi will still be bedding in. Signing a Partey replacement won’t be the same either as he’ll be new too who himself will be adjusting to his new team. Need Partey’s experience and quality around for at least one more season.
Give him the increased 2 year contract.
Then sell to Saudi at the end of the season for a decent fee.
In the event he leaves we’ll have two DM’s in Rice and Zubimendi that have circa cost a combined £160m, I’m not really for playing Rice as an #8 every week, it isn’t needed and can be problematic.
So honeslty I don’t think retaining Partey is as key as some others believe it to be
