Thomas Partey (5)

On a yellow all half as well but stepped in perfectly every time.

Maybe he just needed a sequence of games. Getting better and better.

Please stay fit (until Merino returns)

Heā€™s certainly getting his edge back defensively. Despite that shitty pen against Atalanta, heā€™s been a real help for our backline, even bigger than Rice which I never thought Iā€™d say(even in his prime 2-3 years ago).

Partey was excellent defensively. Thank goodness he is coming to form.

3 games in 7 days. Think he was our best player yesterday.

shit, heā€™s right

Would need to watch the first Leicester goal again but seen a few comments saying a TP error played a big part in it.

For as good as he was last week, I think when a game becomes end to end as it did in the second half today his legs start to fade.

Thought he had a decent game personally. I think Havertz was responsible for the first goal and Calafiori couldā€™ve done better job covering Justin for the second but both goals were very lucky.
What Partey error are these comments talking about?

I agree, he was decent and still good on the ball for most part.

One comment was about him giving the ball away in the buildup for the first goal but Iā€™d need to check this.

Didnā€™t notice him for the first but certainly for the second he was lazily jogging to challenge the cross coming in. Mind you that was him covering rb so he isnā€™t fully at fault, he just didnā€™t seem bothered to try and stop the cross at all.

I think itā€™s clear that Parteyā€™s legs have gone. He still has his passing ability and can intercept and make a tackle, but when he loses the ball or lets a player through he canā€™t get the ball back. Needs replacing in the summer.

Merino i reckon was meant to be (somewhat) his replacement and he wasnt meant to be playing so much but some muppet broke his shoulder.

I still think Merino will mainly play in that left-sided No.8 role, with Rice at No.6. I think they will alternate, and good to have the versatility within the squad.

To be honest, Iā€™ve thought the same since I made that comment earlier.

If he pushes to block that cross or makes that kind of action consistently enough, heā€™s injured.

Itā€™s probably his last season here.

Could end his Arsenal career with a Premier League trophy, not bad. :saka:

Keep Jorgi for another season and let Partey go at the end of this one. Keeping Jorgi gives us some room to find our next key midfielder. Maybe by that time Zubi is finally ready to come here.

Heā€™s been a key component of us turning from Top 4 contenders to title contenders. His legs are going and heā€™s on a large salary. This will be and probably should be his last season.

Thought Partey was sensational last night. His best performance of the season so far.

He looked pretty sharp physically I thought, covered a lot of ground.

Seeing him and Rice now is definitely the closest thing we had to Gilberto and Vieira since Gilberto and Vieira.

Amazed by good heā€™s been since the Spurs game. Heā€™ll have a big part to play this year.
