Thomas Partey (5)

Not sure this holds up to be true tbh. Adams , Merse, Sansom and most tragically of all Paul Vassen fell short through a mixture of drugs, drink and gambling problems through the careers. This case if proven true is just an exceptional circumstance and one you have to exonerate the club from.

Who was the Arsenal player that was involved in smuggling porn in the 70s? I’m sure I read something about this a few years ago or did I dream it?

Peter Storey. Had a colourful life shall we say after leaving the game. Not much Arsenal class in his tackling either tbh

There’s very few autobiographies by footballers that are worth reading, but True Storey is quite the read

It’s safe to argue that drinking, drugs and gambling - whilst deteriorating for the self (and sometimes others) - is a far cry from (alleged) rape.

Dont think anybody is questioning that. Just a comment made about how background checks used to be done in the past on players character.

Does not look good.

When can the media name the suspect? The silence is sickening.

hopefully we will be able to still sing this song

Dude, no offense but I’m not trying to look at any of that until we know for sure it’s not him and if he’s alleged to have committed the crime he’s cleared of it.

AFC’s silence on the matter is deafening.

Spurs have players in that age bracket as well, could also very well be one of them

It’s fked up but if the player is from one of the two teams I hope it’s a spurs player.

When (un)said player is charged

all I hope is the people involved get the proper help they need, the victims I mean

I just wonder if not someone at Arsenal would’ve picked up on this and just tweeted a pic of him in the hotel pool if it wasn’t him you know.

We will find out if he is in Germany on friday anyway. Surely Arteta will be asked about his absence

Arsenal’s silence is because he isn’t named by police. Until that time they can’t comment because it would immediately break the embargo and lead to Arsenal having to answer a criminal charge themselves.

Internally, it will be a different matter with Solicitors, PR, the board and the management in constant contact. Their statement is likely already prepared by their solicitors, their next actions will be the biggest headache for them. If any player is charged with a serious criminal offence of any kind the player should be suspended with pay by the club, simple.

Arsenal FC have a nightmare legally and morally ahead of them. They’re kind of lucky it’s not a slow news week.

The above is written with my business head on, I’ve already said in here but I’ll say it again. The worst situation is for the victims and I hope they are surrounded by loving, caring friends and family at this time.
