“Use our calculator to work out how much the disabled are costing you”

Just a 21st century version of this:

If you’re not familiar, it’s a Nazi propaganda poster about the cost of caring for those with disabilities (or “defectives” as the Nazis called them).

No no no you mustn’t compare the Tories to the Nazis, even when they are acting like the government of Germany circa 1930s!

@JakeyBoy I hate how the government has created this subsidy state to just increase profits given to employers and e.g. energy companies to increase profits even further by having a revenue stream for tax.

Instead of regulating energy prices, they are subsidising them so energy companies get their cash, but we as the taxpayers pay more and more.

Just fuelling their profiteering from our tax money.

That is what I hate. Fuck off.

Hmmm, not sure I agree with the terminology here.

Overall sentiment, yes. We should be doing more for those less fortunate than ourselves through tax deductions.

Yeah fair. Could have been worded a little more sensitively

I promise no malice is intended though, I have full sympathy for these people we can’t imagine the challenges they have to overcome for stuff we take for granted.

I take a lot less offence to “poor disabled sods” than I do to “USE OUR CALCULATOR TO SEE HOW MUCH MONEY THE DISABLED ARE COSTING YOU”

Doesn’t surprise me.

How so?

I’m a Disabled worker. I have a chronic neurological condition which makes even working at a desk at home difficult some days. I was awarded the lowest level of PIP because I can still dress myself most of the time and can understand how to get to places (even though I can’t drive).

The amount I get doesn’t make up for having to cut down my work hours or the costs of getting a cleaner in because I can’t do it all myself and for DIY jobs. By the end of a 4 day week I’m exhausted and have to rest so I’m fit for the next 4 days.

I could quit work but I’d get nothing because I am mortgaged, have a little equity and I’m “Fit for work”. Therapy stopped me wanting to top myself. Still have to retire at 67 even though my body will be fit for nothing by then. Can’t even make it to gigs or games anymore because it’s so daunting

What a f**king life. My MP keeps delaying my meeting with him, he’s a millionnaire who married into money, so he’s doing alright I guess.

Don’t know what to say, mate :disappointed:

Sorry to hear you’re going through all that

Cheers mate. I read a lot and play Football Manager. I consider myself lucky to have been born in a time when you can work, socialise and shop online. I get stupidly emotional at wins against Bournemouth these days.

I’ve been to many of those farcical ‘assessments’ of PIP and UC. It’s not much but believe me I get how shit it is. Very sorry.

Don’t feel bad.

A bunch of small-timers up north felt the same 5 days ago.

I’d pay £50 not to go. :grinning:

I wonder how many heckles I get for £50?

So what was this about again?

Don’t use Hillsborough to score points you sad little man.

I asked you this yesterday and you didn’t answer.
