The Conservative Party

I was working in a place around there the other day, in Cranbrook? Went to a ‘Farm Shop’ nearby to grab some some lunch as there was nothing else of note where I was. £8 for a Cornish pasty :arteta3:

Tory country.

Children of miners voting Tory. Vile idiots

This elitist attitude from high educated middle class people is the reason why they keep voting Tory.

Nobody votes for a party because of the attitude of others. They vote for a party that promises to do the things they want them to do. And sometimes they’ll even vote for them again when they don’t do it but promise they will the next time.

Sounds about right

These are renowned extortionists all over the country.

Only worth it for the award winning pork pies, which all farm shops seem to somehow produce.

Yes red wall areas have been in the shit for years under labour. Why would you not think they would want to try something else? Are they vile idiots for trying for change?

Voting for the party that economically destroyed them does feel a bit stupid.

Again what has labour done to improve those areas since then? Thatcher is not in charge anymore and the areas have had been in labour hands for years. This why I think most of you guys haven’t got a clue how poor working class people think. Most will tell you “yes back then thatcher hurt the place. But labour has not improved things since being in charge.” I feel like it’s true when they say labour has become the party of university educated middle class. You guys don’t spend a thought on what these people are thinking hence they vote Tory

It’s also worth asking why the conservatives have done to improve those areas since they’ve been in power longer than Labour in the time since Thatcher destroyed them.

For that matter, what have they done since accruing all these red well votes for those areas? Not a lot.

And before you lump me in with “you guys” I couldn’t care less if they vote Labour. I just think it’s weird only a generation on for people in those communities to vote Tory.

Again you fail to understand one can look around and see that nothing is improving and want change.

Again thatcher is not in charge nor were the tories for all those peoples lives. You just proved why I say “you guys” when I say you guys do not understand. Most of those voters struggle to make ends meat and don’t live lives of abundance. The problem is that you have never been poor and in a stagnant situation where your dad and grandfather were in and everyone around you. You look to see who is in charge of your area and it’s the same people for as long as you can remember. At that point who started it does not matter because the people in charge are just not fixing it or making it better. What do you do if not try something else?

I do get that, to a degree. Especially when not everyone gets that having a Labour MP or a Labour council doesn’t necessarily mean Labour are in charge or can meaningfully impact your area if a national government won’t provide the means to do so. I still think that most of those communities have enough of a memory to know the Tories are what destroyed their communities and industries and who have largely failed to act to undo that in the time they’ve had in power since.

Again, not voting Labour or for continuity from the past I can easily understand. I wouldn’t vote Labour at the moment either. But that doesn’t equate to me to voting Tory.

When it the the county is labour, they control the finance, project planning, infrastructure everything; they are only restricted in some parts by central government.

If the county doesn’t do something, it is the councillors that has decided not to. Why do you think Croydon borough went bust, the decision making of the labour council investing and over spending on vanity projects.

Yeah that’s fine. Labour and the left is full of annoying champagne socialists that can be a pain to stomach and vote for.

Doesn’t change the fact that if you’re poor and vote Tory, you are a moron. Because they will fuck you and make your life worse

I still don’t understand why putting less money into deprived areas is a good idea.

I can see how it might seem like a good idea if you don’t give a fuck about the area or the deprived people in it.

Because it means they have more money to give to the wealthier areas to ensure that vital public services like the police, schools and hospitals are funded appropriately. Which is obviously much more important than helping areas that need more investment and more funding.
