The State of The Arsenal

Should’ve sacked him mid season and got Amorim tbf

What you mean to say is, you can’t read.

Drop the gimmick. You can’t stand Arteta mate.

My target for him this season was to at least go deep into the UCL. Why would I want him sacked now? But if the club did change him, I would welcome the change.

You’re just blinded by and enjoy mediocrity. Suit yourself.

When players play like shit, you routinely say they played well..

Nonsense as usual from you.

See, was it that hard? You clearly aren’t pleased with him and haven’t been in a long time so why are you sugarcoating by saying you’d give him a chance this summer.

If it was really up to you he’d be gone years ago.

So he’s achieved your target and only gets 1 more chance because his hands were tied in Jan?

I’m just wondering who people think will do a better job without setting us back 2 years.

I think if it was up to most people, they would’ve had him gone years ago.

The last 2 campaigns (bar this one) increased his stock massively. He deserves one last chance to bring some silverware here, if he can’t do that I think he should go.

Can’t be Nearlymen, Netflix FC, The Bridesmaids every year.

It’s time to deliver.

Yeah I think if his full squad was available to him, the board backed him in Jan and we still ended up where we are - I’d probs be pushing even further to change managers.

I quite like Inzaghi, Conte, Ancelotti. Just someone who actually has experience being able to take a team over the line.

FWIW, I don’t think any top coach that got his level of investment over the years would take us backwards, or do much worse than he’s done so far.

There’s no doubt Arteta’s a good coach, a great one.. but I just don’t know whether he can take them over the line.

Hence why this summer has to be it now, for me anyway.

I find that complete madness tbh. Inzaghi looks like a good manager but he’s just as much of a risk without any guarantee it would translate here, plus they’re bottling their own league while scraping through in the CL.

If he was doing that here people would still be moaning that we’re one game away from a worthless season (just like inter are).

Conte could come in and potentially win but he’d have to change half the team, selling MLS to bring in perisic and Ashley young. He might get us short term success.

Ancelotti just got destroyed by mikel over two legs, so much that the Madrid fans online are begging for him to leave. Great manager but I wouldn’t take him now over Mikel, he’s perfect for a star studded club like Madrid or PSG these days.

Pep or Klopp I’d have to think about it for sure, both too much pedigree to ignore but they’d never come here now.

It’s a Patrice Evra reference from the fan channels.

The actual quote is: “Watching Arsenal is like watching Netflix, you always wait for the next season. And trust me, every season is going to be like that” he said on some podcast with Rio Ferdinand and some other guy.

Then it got turned into some shit joke about Netflix FC.

Now that I informed you, do you regret knowing?

I think, on balance, I’m just about glad I know what it means.

So thanks, I guess.

Your welcome, here every Saturday.

The most recent phase of evolution hasn’t added anything elevating or creative, just more physicality. Caution over risk/reward leading to frustration leading to mistakes early on and a lack of confidence in front of goal. Arteta has done well to galvanize the squad he’s had available with the European run and sustaining a second spot while some teams have struggled and needed to invest to give them hope. But, it shows that ambition alone doesn’t win anything. Now is the time to show intent with the finishing touches this squad needs.

Exactly, which is why I pray we head back to something slightly more creative this summer. Don’t go too far and remove all the physical presence back to the wenger era but the double signing of rice and merino was a terrible idea.

Was all fun and games about the height til we lost any ability to play clever passes.

think Spurs need to be replaced with Newcastle now.

That Spurs are included in that thing is why I can’t take ‘Big Six’ seriously.

Upper midtable club that had a nice run and got some strange big club status because of it.

Please.

(Nice stat though)

To say we did not progress and improve is really harsh.

We just need to find a way to make that leap and win something now.
