Oh now I’m enjoying tennis again
LOL
Germany v Italy final?
Not sure. Think Medvedev might do it.
He is due at the Aussie Open tbf.
Then again, so was Rafter at Wimbledon…
The final against Goran still kills me
Credit to Sinner, he didn’t give Djokovic an opening by not conceding any break points, served so well especially on 2nd serve, my favourite of the younger generation. Great attitude and attributes all round.
Djokovic well below par in the first couple of sets, you can’t play like that against this level of opponent and then have to be essentially perfect for the remainder. Played well in the 3rd but still concerning he didn’t bring up break points, sloppy as hell to get broken from 40 love up in the 4th
Sinner now would be a worthy winner with defeating the King of the tournament.
I hate to say I called it early but……
He may actually turn out to be the better player long term between him and Alcaraz
He’s that good, last six months or so he’s reached a level few can touch
Djokovic L?
Zverev close here.
Medvedev CUNT
Zverev really should have taken it there 2 set points on his racket after a terrible error and gift from Medvedev
Feels like every match he’s got to go to 5 sets even if he takes the first 2, doesn’t look like someone who’s going to win the tournament when the moment arrives to seize it
Unreal Meddy
Great comeback. He was 2 points away from going home!
Zverev may never win a slam, just doesn’t have the bottle
Sinner will win his 1st slam on Sunday, Medvedev has shown weakness in this tournament
Yeah, he has shown a lack of mental strength in many a crucial game in the slams. Not much has changed from when he first arrived, same fragility.
Sinner takes it in 5, what a match
He’s the real deal and a worthy winner, 1st Italian to win a major in the singles
Medvedev that’ll be tough to take to be 2 sets up in two AO finals and end up on the losing side, awful for him.
Sinner will be a multiple slam champion, lovely to see him get his maiden slam after turning a corner last year.
Congratulations to the new champion. What a come back!!
I think so too. Seems to have the right mentality. No tantrums, not many emotions, just stays calm and composed. If he takes care of his fitness, there is no reason he cannot win many more slams.
Epic comeback and it’s even more impressive when he hadn’t faced this level of adversity throughout the whole tournament until today and he managed to deal with it and bounce back in a slam final against a great player in Medvedev
He’s never too high or too low, composed and just gets on with it. Definitely my favourite player of this younger generation.
