Last 15 years or so we’ve had a cycle of building a good team from shitters but failing to get over the last hurdle constantly. Arteta and Edu rebuilt us brilliantly no matter how you want to view it, but again we’ve hit that ceiling again.
The only way to get over the line is to get your wallet out. We’re a massive club competing in 4 competitions - if you are serious about winning the league you have to spend. If we are restricted by current rules then so be it. But we have billionaire owners who could easily buy us any player we desire. If we aren’t spending it’s because the people at the top are satisfied with the current state.
Yeah apart from other clubs this happens, but because this is Arsenal, just like the refs…we would be ‘made an example of’ within weeks. There would be an investigation i pretty much guarantee it straight away.
Our season is illustrated in this game against Man U.
Loads of possession.
Ineffective in attack.
Taking ages on set pieces.
More injuries to key players,
Martinelli can’t beat a player.
Slow build up play.
Can’t break down low block defences.
Need to make some top quality attacking signings.
This has been happening too long and although Arteta can’t do much about injuries, he really needs to change his approach because we’re getting found out far too frequently.
