Stone Cold Might Be The 🐐

Thoroughly enjoyed that main event :arteta2:

The Cena and Taker pops were huge, I assumed beforehand it would be Austin instead but Taker worked so well.

I presume Austin was offered that role but for whatever reason that didn’t work out. I’m sure Taker didn’t mind getting Austin’s payday.

Just watched it, fucking fantastic!

Sucked the air out of the actual finish no? I thought the final match was overbooked, too top heavy. You shouldn’t need living legends to put a WM main event over.

Bringing back the shield without dean was stupid

Insane edit. Must watch.

Ok, not a massive draw, but it’s part of the Rhodes family. His absence stuck out like a sore thumb (due to AEW allegiance)

It was between Drew v Rollins or the triple threat for the US title for match of the night for me.

Almost kinda embarrassing for a YouTuber to be so good in the ring  true, natural heel as well. Universally hated. Love to see it.

Dustin Rhodes, Ricky Starks and QT Marshall were present by the way and were celebrating like mad men when Cody won.

I don’t think this Mania is the best they’ve had in recent years. The shenanigans in the main event was fun but the ending fell very, very flat.

People just wanted to see Cody win and they got what they wanted

I thought the finisher spam was ridiculous with those triple Cross Rhodes but obviously I’m not the audience anymore. Can’t believe I’m saying it but AEW would’ve been slammed for that

Pretty sure we don’t need spoiler tags now everyone on OA who watches wrestling has posted.

I think it was necessary for Cody to win but after all that why did everyone stand around in such a weird standoffish way politely smiling? Surely the celebration should have been mental.

I could live with all the Cross Rhodes because they were playing with how last years match finished. Also the Cross Rhodes is a terrible move and I can fully believe it would need ten of them to put Roman down :joy:

Perhaps, this is the most buzz worthy Mania in a very long time though.

Lots of mainstream outlets covering it. Way too many celebs and influencers praising the show.

I honestly expect a big number for RAW today.
They went all out yesterday, I think they should go all out again today too. Not sure how though.

A Lesnar return maybe? I know a Hardy is now a free agent and he looks to be WWE bound but it’s not Jeff.

Maybe they do the Rock/Roman angle and introduce Jacob Fatu?

Strange response to reply to me with almost nothing related to what I’ve said.

It was regarding this:

From a business perspective, it is the best in many years.

WCW style run in would’ve been perfect there.

Right.

Well as I said, it was bad presentation.

Do you not think it served its purpose? Sure, it was wacky and chaotic but people are talking about it like WWE’s equivalent of Endgame.

Personally, I think it’s gonna be very hard to top that.

People or Twitter?

It was fine, it was a good main event but not the best and the ending and celebration was just a bit flat and weird.

WWE have done better creatively in the last year, in fact they did better this weekend than they did with the main event.

WWE was ending the reign of a 1316 Days champion, they were always going to get a buzz.

Curious, which created more buzz? Lesnar breaking Taker’s streak or Roman ā€œretiringā€ Taker?
