Stone Cold Might Be The 🐐

Just seen about Bray Wyatt on the Smackdown replay, terrible to go at an age like that. RIP :frowning:

All In returns to Wembley next August

Given a free ticket and couldn’t say no. Actually a superb show!

What a fucking show, got ground seats for it and absolutely loved it.
Probably my favourite PPV of all-time after this. FTR v Young Bucks 3 is the easily the best match I’ve seen live.

Wembley at night is otherworldly.

Just heard about Jack Perry trying to start shit with Punk and ending up being choked out and then sent away.
These guys think because he got his ass whooped in UFC they can just take him on. Dude has more than a decade worth of martial arts training under him. Unless you know what you’re doing or you’re significantly bigger than him, I wouldn’t advise going after him.

How much did you pay for those seats?

Safe to say AEW put on a great show tonight. The three match stretch at the start from punk v Joe to ftr v young bucks was of the highest quality.

Enjoyed the rest but hard to top the opening three bouts.

I think it was around ÂŁ130 each.

Great price! Thought it would’ve been a little more. Might look to get something down there for next year’s show if it’s similar.

A mate got this in so I went over and watched. With zero context at all I really enjoyed it.

The storyline of the main event was just really excellent and the pop at the hug was fucking brilliant.

They deserve a lot of credit for putting on a great show.

Watched a bit. It wasn’t really enough to hold my attention though. The tag match between the Bucks and the Revival was a stinker that spammed false finishes. I get AEW fans like that sort of thing but it doesn’t do it for me,

It was striking that AEW have gone full WCW in their reliance on former WWE names since even the last time I watched them.

So if you’ve worked for WWE before you’re black marked?

Plenty homegrown or talent with no association to WWE was involved in the event.

It’s almost impossible not using someone that may have worked for WWE before given they’ve been the main promotion in the world for the past 2 decades. And they did go through periods where they signed everyone under the sun.
Someone like Swerve worked for WWE but really made his name elsewhere and he was shortly gone after being promoted to the main roster.

I didn’t say that, I just said the reliance on the ex-WWE especially for star power is pretty clear.

Sure, they’re mixing them in. Would you blame them though?
WWE was and is the top dog. Guys like CM Punk and Jericho were big in WWE, it’s normal to try to use their pull.
For Punk specifically, this is the first time people in the UK had the opportunity to see him live after he left wrestling in 2014.

Btw, do you consider Sting as a WWE name? Think one could make a case for it.

I wouldn’t consider Sting a star in 2023 to be honest.

But he’s a WCW name.

I just think AEW, when it started out, had more to say for itself than being a place where you could see people who used to be big in WWE.

As far as Punk goes, the man’s an embarrassment more than he is anything else. And I was a huge fan before he came back to wrestling. I get AEW fans want to see him, but he’s so much less than he was in 2014 now.

Really? He’s WCW/TNA more than anything. His WWE run was a tiny part of his career.

This is an insane question.

So, the argument is, Vince bought WCW, so WCW’s history now falls under the WWE umbrella, just like nWo, Goldberg and others.

With Goldberg and Sting also appearing on WWE TV, PPVs(incl. marquee matches at Wrestlemania), video games and also being inducted into their Hall Of Fame, they do have the WWE tag on them now.

Goldberg and Sting are not WWE guys. Neither of them made their name at WWE.

Na.

That’s a bizarre take for someone as informed as you.

Do they have the WWE tag on them though? :eyes:

Because I can imagine a lot of younger guys considering them so, not knowing the WWF/WCW history.
