Honestly, that bench isn’t far off the type of benches we had in 22/23.
Make a sub, you prick.
Disagree. It is a true reflection of where we are at though otherwise irrespective of injuries, the bench would have been good enough.
Even if those injured players return, we have no real offensive options that are game changers.
We got Sterling and they have Duran is one small example. For someone to be this many years into a project and still have limited or poor resources is POOR.
Name the Liverpool bench if they don’t have Salah (Saka), VVD (Saliba), Robertson (Calafiori), Elliott (Nwaneri), Nunez (Jesus).
Did you see the City bench the other day too?
Why is everyone obsessed with Liverpool on this forum?
Making comparison to Liverpool as a benchmark does not curtain Arsenal’s reality as of now, let’s not forget Liverpools bench players have made more of an impact than Arsenals this season lol (Nunez today, Jota last week and Gapko not so long ago.)
Going into the season without a prime playmaker, winger and striker is high level of incompetency. You point out Manchester City’d depth, but are they not addressing it in the window now, despite winning the title last season?
At this point, I don’t even consider likes of Tomi and Cala as part of the team; zero availability.
It’s not a reflection though. We have 7 potential first team players injured at the moment.
Nwaneri has shown he can contribute and Jesus worked himself back into good form. Having them two would make a big difference to the quality of our bench at least we’d have options to bring on.
Nobody’s disputing that we need to strengthen but it’s a disingenuous take to post our bench which is currently decimated by injuries to first team players and act like that somehow reflects the quality of our strength in depth.
If we removed 7 first team players from any other PL team the bench would look dramatically different.
Seen the table?
Well shouldn’t we be making comparisons with teams that are ahead of us or win stuff like City have done? Otherwise, what is your baseline?
You were saying the bench should be good enough regardless of injuries, so surely you can name a competent bench if those teams have similar injuries?
Two things can be true at once. E.g. we could have signed more players and we could also be severely affected by injury. You could have quite easily made the first point without using the example you did.
Injuries have really taken a toll on us. Apart from Raya, everyone has missed several games.
We simply can’t cope without Saka—it’s a huge blow.
It’s incredibly frustrating.
Even with a fully fit squad, though, we’re still lacking depth in attack.
Not buying the injury excuse. Injuries are not why we failed to score against Everton at home, got our pants pulled down by Newcastle and threw a two goal lead away to Villa.
We haven’t got the stuff to be title winners. 90 minutes into the Brentford game earlier, I thought we could still do it.
Need to stop being deluded. This team hasn’t got the balls. We’ve been devoid of ideas this season even with Saliba, White and Saka starting.
A single Rodri absence fucked City and you want us to be competitive with the amount of injuries we carried?
You really think that Cities horror season is down to one player? Rodri is the reason why they lost four nil at home to Spurs? If you do, then there is no conversation to be had.
Rodri is world’s best midfielder.
They are so much worse without him. It’s definitely been the catalyst to their collapse.
I’m glad you said potential because Jesus was seen as a liability until his hattrick and I wouldn’t even include Calafiori and Tomiyasu in the list when they lack the basic: availability.
The way I see it is very simple. If we addressed issues in the summer: sign a striker, winger and prime playmaker then we would not be where we are today. Arteta is putting pressure on KSE that the squad is thin, he directly complimented Isak (indirect again), he is aware this team lacks quality and current team has been very inconsistent, bench has not been impactful either.
I said it in the summer, we needed 3/4 signings, I also mentioned playing a game per 3 days was going to kill the current squad and that’s whats happening and the reflection we see now is the reality. It’s no myth.
Disagree. Obviously they are better with him, but the 115 charges, Pep’s personal problems, KDB not being fit and poor recruitment is why City are floundering. They didn’t look great this season with Rodri.
Throwing away a two goal hole lead and being dumped out of two cups - one at home vs 11 men. I’m not buying the injury excuse.
My baseline is Arsenal.
Well then that means we are top of the table!!

Arteta’s message to KSE.
Arteta deserves some blame here though, going into a season with no competent backup for Odegaard and Saka for 3 season’s straight is an embarrassment.
It was only a matter of time before they either end up having a poor season or get injured for a lengthy period of time.
Eduardo Hagn’s stupid face after that stupid result.
I need to sleep, angrily.
