Thanks christ for the 5 sub rule.
We can really switch things up in the unlikely event the first 11 isn’t cutting it. Particularly offensively.
Jesus, Tross and ESR will be key

0 injuries. All players in full training. Has that every happend before? Thats craaazzzy !
This must be the first time in our history that we’ve had ALL our players FIT and ready to rumble.
The next 10 teams we face are going to need to lube up well lol ![]()
Meanwhile o’driscoll at manu has a tonne of them…seems like he is a jinx at best and at worst terrible at his job.
Guess everyone being back in training was a false hope.
Partey, Tomiyasu, Jesus, Martinelli, Vieira are not 100% and they were not in position to help us out despite availability.
I mean Jesus did help us open the score against Brighton, the equaliser against Bayern was mostly him and he served that tap-in for Trossard against Villa that if we scored would have changed the game.
Tomiyasu was pretty good yesterday too and has had some other decent cameos as well.
I’ll agree on Partey, Martinelli and Vieira though. Vieira specifically has been nonexistent.
I wish he was more fit so he could have played against Bayern & Villa.
I was worried when this happened:

I thought he was gonna be fucked after that but he seemed fine and he actually grew into the game.
There were moments yesterday in the second half where he was our biggest threat which is pretty damning.
Part of me got angry that Martinelli didn’t try doing some stuff himself.
In hindsight, I think Arteta would’ve started Jesus on the left.
We just need more quality up front.
Saka’s form post-Dubai and his form the last two weeks has been night and day. Same with Martinelli really. Their top level is super high but they pick up niggles like anybody else and if we play them into the ground we are very ordinary.
I think our CL campaign also just illustrated the truism that the CL is about avoiding big erorrs and then moments of individual quality. In the PL, Arteta can joystick his way to goals with tactics, overwhelming other sides. In the CL we are not going to do that in the knockouts. You play tight cagey matches against other sides with top players and top managers and you score goals mainly in these moments of top quality. All of our three goals in the knockouts were like this - a moment of brilliance from Odegaard against Porto, a really top class finish from Saka from a pretty difficult position for the first against Bayern, and then a moment of brilliance from Jesus to create an opening for Trossard.
We made two big errors against Bayern to gift them two goals at home and then basically just didn’t have enough of these moments of quality in attack to overcome it. We need at least one more attacking player who can provide that wow moment and then to give Saka, Martinelli, and Odegaard enough rest over the course of the season so that they’re in top condition in April rather than limping around the pitch or recovering from injury.
I’ve done this last year and it got a lot of traction at the time so I’m doing it again 12 months later.
Which players do you think will go(not who you want to go)on a loan or a sale this summer?
I’ve put a limit of 15 players because this is the average of our outgoings since Arteta’s arrival.
0 voters
Jesus isn’t getting any votes because nobody’s buying a guy who needs surgery this summer.
Depends on the type of operation. Could very well have it next week and be fit for preseason.
There’s also a scenario where he doesn’t have an operation.
I can’t imagine he’d say in the press that he’s been playing through pain and might need an operation if it isn’t extremely likely he needs one.
I think we could probably upgrade on him in terms of availability, but I think he stays because nobody else would pay what we want for him.
Did you watch or hear what he said in full?
What he said in that presser was that it has been a tough year for him with injuries and he hasn’t been able to be 100%.
He said he wants to use the summer to get back to it, even if it means sacrificing Copa America or having surgery to fix something.

Yeah that’s exactly what I’m referencing. I don’t think you drop that in a presser unless surgery is a likely outcome. From what I understand he did the surgery at the start of the season to clean some junk up in the knee but obviously it didn’t really fix the problem.
It’s really harsh but I’m tired of pining our hopes on guys who can’t stay healthy. I think he’s close to that Partey/Diaby zone.
I don’t think any of the three are comparable, especially Diaby.
Diaby played 180 times in 10 seasons here. Gabriel Jesus played 68 times in two seasons. Partey player 114 times in 4 seasons.
Diaby didn’t have a problem with one specific area. His whole body was crumbling. Ankle, calf, hamstring, knee.
We’re talking a very special case here.
I don’t think any of the three are comparable, especially Diaby.
In terms of trying to build around a player who is not around? We had Eddie starting double digit matches for us. That’s not good enough.
The actual games missed aren’t comparable but the concept of trying to build our a depth chart with Jesus or Partey or Diaby as an important piece of the squad, is what I’m talking about.
Surprised Vieira hasn’t got more votes. Think there’s a very decent chance he’s going.

I think he’ll go out on loan and quietly exited summer 2025.
