It’s a shame Sol is basically England’s forgotten great defender. Feel like it has a lot to do with his prime coming just before Terry and Ferdinand basically dominated English domestic football with Chelsea and United between 05-10

Tbf, I’ve seen clips of Spurs fans giving him shit still. I remember one where someone saw during a holiday in a café and he kept giving him shit, forcing Sol to leave.

To be fair, we’ve got supporters who still hate RVP, Cesc, Nasri etc but Campbell was different.
He might as well have said to spurs supporters, “you’re not good enough for me” and then go to their biggest rivals and help them become the Invincibles.
To make it worse, he left on a free and got a massive signing on fee.
He was a brilliant footballer but, unlike the rest of that team, he lacked personality.

An absolute unit in his prime. Speed, strength and outstanding defensive fundamentals. A truly elite CB.
It’s a shame that he’s an underrated great of the PL era. People will mention Terry, Ferdinand, Vidic, Adams etc but tbh Sol goes into my all time PL XI. He had everything. Above all, he would go to war. Could not be cowed.
