Serie A

It’s easier to be a hater when you have no connection to the club, but as they say

You should have said, honestly the football was reminiscent of the beautiful days of Spalletti.

That bald, duck-loving weirdo.

Edit: @Jesseviolin I think CBS said that Napoli didn’t even register him for the season? Is AdL just expecting him to sit out until January and then move?

Well, he’s got a day or so to move him to whatever window is still open or it looks that way.

First of all, I genuinely love being a hater. It’s a lot of fun.

But it’s definitely going to take some time for me to warm to this version of Napoli. I’ve never really liked Conte. The idea of swapping a promising young player for an aging (talented) journeyman is grotesque to me. And I’ve hated Scott McTominay for years. It’s jarring seeing all that stuff happen to a club you generally want good things for. It’s like if I suddenly discovered my family was Moroccan and I got called up to their national team. Think how disappointed @SRCJJ would be.

Just saw the red card that helped Napoli win the match against Parma.

Ah Serie A, you never stop.

Lukaku to bang in 25+ goals for his daddy Conte.

When you get over your love for nerd ball managers you’ll appreciate Conte for what he is and that’s a winner and a great manager.

You’d find it difficult to name many managers who’ve been as successful as him over the last decade or so. He’s won the league title with 3 clubs that’s not something many managers can boast about.

Every team Conte has ever left behind he’s left with a strong squad. Inter were MUCH stronger because of him and so were Juventus. Chelsea is a club he left because of the brain dead transfer decisions they were making he practically begged them to sack him.

Also none of this is a dig at you. A lot of people love the nerd ball managers but the reality is history remembers the winners and that’s categorically what Conte is.

They haven’t they’re just punishing him for wanting him what he was promised, making him play for the two clubs he didnt want to go to. If they made a live action movie of Catch the Pigeon de Laurentiis would be Dick Dastardly and the agent would be Muttley.

Basically the Saudis have told each other not to deal with the evil Napoli and his other choice is Turkey.
So it looks like he’s training on his own and sitting in the stand for €10 million a year :person_shrugging:

What even is nerd ball though? Using stats? Positional play? I mean it’s fine. I’m not really a big tactics guy. I just want to see pretty play.

I don’t like Conte because of his persona and because some of his teams weren’t a lot of fun to watch. Maybe it’s because we’re talking about Juve and Chelsea. I get that he’s a winner but something about him just ehh, I can’t vibe with it. He’s like Nick Saban (if you’re familiar with college football personalities in the states). Extremely successful but just kind of leaves me cold with some of his bullshit.

And you’d think I’d love the guy! He’s comes off as emotional, thin-skinned, desperate to win, always ready to shit on Spurs, legendary hair transplant recipient. There’s a lot there to like. But I have a hard time getting there.

Listen the bottom line is as well as being a Gooner you all know me to be a Napoli fan ,and as much as I dislike Juventus as " a club" they’ve had some of my favourite players and managers and if I say Conte is going to be a good manager for Napoli until he’s not my word is final alright.
And while we are at it can someone tell the creepy little weirdo I’ve blocked him so he’s wasting his time engaging me in any way

I was at the game last night and he was great to watch, much more animated than our past managers and Southern Italian to boot what’s not to love.

Maybe it hits different when it’s for your club rather than for a club you detest. I’m open to changing my mind.

Ok we’ve got a year of arguing to get on with :slightly_smiling_face:

Conte is a cunt and any idiot can win Scudetto
Doesn’t make him a good manager

And no Scudetto matters because pretty sure they match fix it all.

He won the Premier League too.

Shame on all of us

I don’t know how Fonseca conned his way into that job.

Downgrade from Pioli in every way

The Milan hierarchy got rid of Maldini and Massara who were football men who made good decisions. Since then it’s been downhill.

Conte was available and they overlooked him for Fonseca who is a bum

There was hype about Milan about Fonseca during preseason and he did do well at Lille so I thought perhaps he’d do better than his stint at Roma but it’s been a really poor start for them.

Apparently he’s already lost a part of the dressing room.
