A forward with worse record at Real Madrid than Odegaard’s at Arsenal, with clear attitute problems and surplus to requirements at Madrid, why are you so desperate to sign him? The guy will flop in the EPL, he doesn’t have the mettle.

Has the mettle in big European games.
Very high ceiling, played out of position at Madrid to accommodate the plethora of stars they have.
At Arsenal would play preferred position, much higher ceiling than Martinelli and Trossard and I’d back him to blow up here.

He is hugely talented. I still want him here but I was more hot for this earlier in the summer. He is much better than Trossard and Martinelli. He is also seemingly available. Rodrygo now seems open to move and this weakens Madrid’s position a little as clubs seemingly will no longer need to prise him away.
I use this angle a lot, but it is a World Cup year. That should be motivation enough for him to want to make a quick impact.

This is the transfer saga of the summer and always was going to be.
This is going to the wire. Interesting to see that Bayern have sorted their LW. Liverpool seem to be working on the Isak deal. Does this leave us with a clear path for Rodrygo?
Don’t rule out Man City or even Liverpool going the jugular.
I’d expect Atletico, City and Liverpool to have an interest.
Man City eerily quiet on this, I’ll give you that but I don’t think they have had much dealings with Madrid and I think that works in our favour, if we plan on keeping tabs on Rodders.
Liverpool going for him after signing Isak and Wirtz would put their spending to circa half a billion pounds. Even with sales, that’s ridiculous.
