Wasn’t he Wenger’s first signing?
Anyway, I remember waxing lyrical about this guy when he turned to management, thinking he could be a successor to Wenger.

I think that his first signing was technically Anelka, as I think Garde and Vieira were bought before Wenger was actually officially our manager.
But leaving technicalities aside, yeah it must have been Garde or Vieira, whichever came marginally before the other, I think Garde.
