is it? or is it financially sensible from a club at serious risk of going down?
They’ve signed far too many players and eddie’s wages are already above his talent so I don’t massively blame them. I just think Eddie is equally within his right to say “fuck you” given the way they splashed money the last 2 years, why should he be the potential guinea pig for their new outlook?
I mean it’s sensible for Forrest to ask and sensible for Eddie to say no. Everyone’s looking out for their own interests in that situation and I don’t blame them.
Many said the same about Joe Willock as they did about Eddie Nketiah. It doesn’t matter if Reiss Nelson is not good enough for Arsenal. We just need to make him look advertising to the mid-table clubs, and it’s another £20m into the transfer kitty.
Without having a concrete target to cover/rotate with Saka/LW, it is better to stick with Nelson.
Like Eddie, he only costs 5.2m per year.
What kind of player you can get with that amount?
Nelson is probably around 20m, and I do not think he is the reason why we cannot get a top player.
I tend to believe there is no one Arteta/Edu is really interested in, or the one(s) we are interested is just way too expensive.
From what I can see online, most sources suggest Nelson is on 100k a week.
He offers so little of the pitch that I’d rather give his minutes to Nwaneri or Lewis Skelly. Or better still, use Jesus and Martinelli as right wing options.
I respect that he’s making good money, part of a winning team and gets to live a nice lifestyle. I’d probably ride out the contract too. He’s not going to get nice money when he leaves.
