And then he ended up becoming a coward who shied away from the ball in key games and a big part of the reason (along with Busquets) that Barcelona kept losing major European games.

My man, top scorer by excluding three players?

Woah, you’re gonna make me drop the Rakitic argument and switch to this.

You think Busquets was part of the problem at Barca?

Wasn’t expecting to chat about what let Barca down the past decade in their quest to reclaim the CL but things can take a wild turn in OA.

A big problem for Barca was certainly their defence, however, that was always an aspect Barca didn’t thrive in. They won their last CL with Mathieu.
Barca’s solution to their defending flaws was their quality going forward.

I think you can pinpoint the big drop for Barca around 2017-2018 when Neymar and then subsequently Iniesta left. Those two departures put a lot of pressure on Messi and Suarez to carry the load going forward.
Suarez as well started declining quite a bit physically, he started moving around pretty awkwardly. Essentially, it was really down to Messi.
Majority of the moves Barca made from mid to late 2010s just didn’t work out.
You mention Busquets and Rakitic, I think midfielders like Vidal(past his prime because he was a top, top player at one point) just didn’t make sense for Barca.

I think the current Barca is a bit of blast from the past with their overwhelming attacking threat. Habe no doubt they’ll win a CL soon.

I hope this is lost in translation.

he is gonna get that club investigated

Going by the facial expression of the interviewer, I don’t think there are any translation issues.

Pathetic

He is the world’s second oldest active player to play and oldest to score in a professional match

Not that I agree but its surprising this didn’t get through pass in this current parliament

Not many MP’s voting yes, very one-sided. Why do you disagree with the proposal out of interest?

They did pass implementing a independent regulator, 415-98.

The justification for legislating that private broadcast products to be free seems completely arbitrary, unworkable and regressive. Domestic TV rights for 10 PL games is worth in excess of £1bn, if the government wants free to air PL games it should direct the BBC to bid for them when the rights next become available like it does for other sport events or football tournaments.

I’m against the regulator too, I don’t think there much positive intervention that can come from it particularly as the govt doesn’t tend to have any objection to the worse aspects of financial doping or sports washing from “friendly” arab nations.

The fact that we’re still dealing with the blowback from from the botched ESL launch or that its prompted greater government involvement in a wildly successful english export is crazy to me.

If the govt are going to legislate, let it be for common sense things like getting PL clubs to pay for their own policing. If Arsenal have got £50M to splash on Madueke they can pay the MET for the expense of policing home games
