Better than Drogba ever was but because there is such a heavy bias on the Premier League you’ll always see Eto’o get overlooked.

I just don’t get how Drogba earned such a rep over the years. He’s being put into ridiculous discussions, but it should be Eto’o that should be getting those.
Eto’o signed for Everton. Thats gonna damage even the finest reputation.
Not sure where did you get those kind of comments and ratings towards Eto’o… As far as I’ve seen he’s absolutely in every disussion for the best african player, and he’s often on top, deservedly.
Absolutely one of the top 9s of the 21st century, top 3 for me. Him, Surez, not sure about the 3rd,(not counting Henry as a 9 obviously).

To be honest, I’ve been noticing Eto’o being overlooked when it comes to best African players online(they mention every African player except Eto’o) but what really pushed it for me was discussing great strikers with a couple people recently and while they did light up when I brought up Eto’o, things went south when I said he was one of the very best players of his generation.
Not a single one of them would have him over Drogba and others.
One of them told me to look at Eto’o at Chelsea as evidence of Drogba being better.
When I was In school in the mid 2000’s Eto’o was a massive name.
No one anyone that lived/watched 2000’s football doesn’t think Eto’o wasn’t great. Has to be some new fan shit.

See this said by quite a few players over the last couple of years. At least I know it’s not nostalgia at play and football genuinely is becoming robotic as fuck.
Traditionally a lot of the tactics were focused on defensive structure and stuff but often still gave attacking players freedom but that’s just not the case now. Even the maverick attacking players are being held back by this nonsense.

that’s the best revenge to the opposing side, not just in football.
Hopefully the FA tell them to get fucked. Why should they be able to swan in and take a European place from teams actually competing in that countries league. Shambles from FAW to even contemplate this.
