Football is an outrageously corrupt sport and it isn’t dissimilar to boxing in that there are so many governing bodies and so much money at stake that it’s almost impossible to avoid it.
Football is infinitely more popular and generates an astonishing amount more in revenue than boxing does but, much like boxing, you’ve got so many different “bodies” that have control in so many different regions that it opens itself up to shadiness.
Money laundering, illegal betting, match fixing, doping, corrupt transfer system… it’s all there to be taken advantage of
