Heāll be better for us than he was for Chelsea, no doubt.
His past relationship with Arteta should be beneficial too.
Could be interesting next summer if heās done well for us and we want to keep him with no option or obligation in place.

Martinelli scored 6 league goals in 35 for us last season. Jesus got 4 in 27.
I am super confident that Sterling exceeds both those numbers.
Iām very excited by this signing. Heās not going to bag 20+ league goals but heās going to improve our floor considerably.
Martinelli becomes the weakest player in our bank of 6 attackers. Thatās an excellent place to be in.

This is a season loan with no option or obligation clauses.
Makes this a very simple and clean piece of business.
Gives us the freedom to go big next summer on a marquee attacker.
Really is a deal that suits us. Very, very pleased.
Trossard, Martinelli, Sterling, Jesus, Havertz and Saka is a quality bank of 6 forwards.

I think it is a good deal for deadline day, but the real positive with the outgoings, is that we have put ourselves in a really strong position for January or next summer to sign another marquee player. We are defo still going in the right direction.

loan is perfect though! completely different thing.worst case he can be a backup with 20 appearences and he does a decent job, best case we win the league he takes off and we buy him permanently. not mad at all.
