PSG vs Arsenal - Semi 2nd (CL) 2-1

Think he is right about the creativity issue - we create via Saka, Ode (when he remembers how to play) and then crosses…We really need someone on the left that can create and unfortunately that man is not Martinelli

Didn’t quite realise how suckered rice got for that dembele goal last week, awful.

Still haven’t seen it back, but from the stands, the first few minutes, Rice looked like a headless chicken in the Partey role. It was like he didn’t know who to track and was then floundering in no mans land

The two initial chances missed in the opening 4 minutes, the mistakes in the lead up to both goals conceded and Saka’s unbelievable miss… we really could have turned this tie around but at the same time could have been buried by the other chances PSG had too.

Overall it’s bitterly disappointing. Hakimi’s goal was such a comedy of errors in the lead up. That pass to Rice under pressure from the first looked so unnecessary also.

And despite all that if Saka buries the chance, which he simply has to… we may have still been able to pull the equaliser back with momentum.

It’s fucking stupid of Arteta to say we were the best team. Taking chances and not making shit errors is part of your performance. Crazy and concerning statements from him of late. Making our club look insanely deluded and avoiding his accountability. It’s like a desperate attempt to protect his job publicly when it’s already secure for another season.

He has never been shirking responsibility like this previously. Always admitted our failures as a team before. Maybe just disappointment has amped up to the next degree…

Or maybe the players were upset enough without him needing to pile on more.

I cannot accept that he truly believes that

It’s the expected PR statement that comes with his position. You’d rather him be a Conte, Mourinho or Australian Bud Spenser and bash the club and the players?

Internally they all know they weren’t up to the task.

Arteta’s the same guy that believes he’s won 3 trophies here.

He is factually right though.

But it made him into a laughing stock and turned him into a meme.

If he won at least 1 EPL these past few years, I don’t think he’d say ‘I’ve won 4 trophies’ here. Maybe he will, I dunno.. he seems like he’s the biggest critic of himself like most people are, and so probably wouldn’t count it.

The ‘I’ve won 3 trophies’ remark, seemed to be a defensive reaction to the reporter who asked it at the time.

Doesn’t even crack the top 20 wildest things he’s said in his time here.

Who cares? Mourinho, Wenger, Ferguson, Pep, Conte and so many other managers have said things that are now memes.
