we have always had the funds. It is just that in Jan the prices were just stupid so i imagine that the board didnt wanna waste money then and wanted to get better value and more in summer.
We have plenty of room for PSR too so we can spend we just have to do a bit of recoup for europe.
I read from somewhere else, saying we needed Josh to sanction the Eze deal because we were close to the limit already.
Now without any sale, and trying to get Hincapie⦠interesting.
Donāt know much about the player. Assume he was part of their Championship winning team?
I was previously keen on us signing Hato to replace Kiwior, so this signing would be on similar lines. Anything that can add to the options we have available on the left is a bonus IMO. Plus, I think Calafiori is a better option longer term as backup at LCB.
After last seasons injury crisis, there shouldnāt be question marks around protecting our depth. Our defensive depth only just about held firm and with Kiwior, Zinchenko very much on their way out it only makes sense to go big on this market opportunity. If itās a loan with obligation we can preserve some of the funds in the short term. MLS has a clear pathway into the midfield this way too.
Hincapie looks dynamic, versatile and rapid with additional set piece threat. A real talent on that left side who crucially can overlap too, which benefits the likes of Eze and Gyokeres. Canāt rely on Calafioriās fitness.
This is proactive and shows real intent to provide our squad with everything it needs.
Donāt see why he shouldnāt envisage pushing and overtaking Calafiori and MLS (whoās positional future is still variable). Gabriel less so but why not keep him on his toes as well with Calafiori and Hincapie tussling for his spot too.
Unexpected injuries are bound to happen. We saw what happened with Odegaard and Saka just on Saturday, as well as the mess from last season.
Totally agree, we should be past the point where individuals in the team are our concern. We should focus on whether thereās sufficient depth for a 60 game season in 4 competitions and whether the manager is playing those who are performing the best and getting the best out of the squad as a whole.
Weāre going to have to be ruthless in our pursuit of trophies if we are to succeed.
What we saw last season is that if you have anything less than two players at every position that youāre happy to use, with some substantial cross-positional versatility among those players, then youāre very vulnerable as soon as the injuries hit.
Last year we went into the season with only three real right sided defenders since Tomiyasu is the man of glass and never available. Then as soon as White went down, we were playing Saliba and Timber every single game - which ultimately took a huge toll on Timber.
I think we just need four right sided defenders and four left sided defenders Arteta is genuinely willing to play. Anything less is asking for trouble. If the cost is that you have some periods where everybody is healthy and a few guys wish they were playing more often, so be it.
