Whether he flopped or not isn’t the point.
Chelsea and City have signed flops for big money before, Ben White is the sort of player that would have ended up at a top club one way or the other, whether he capitalized on it is another matter.
First, playing for Chelsea and City means nothing.
They do have defenders that we don’t want and we don’t rate.
Second, I did not see other serious bidder other than us, to get White’s service. Is he that good?
He’d have ended up at a club no bigger than Spurs if we didn’t sign him, clearly other clubs like Chelsea had reservations because they’d have gone in for him otherwise.

It wasn’t actually their fault.
They managed their taxes as per the laws in place at the time. Spanish legislatures deemed the old system as a means for tax evasionary tactic and hounded celebrities for doing it.
They changed the rule and judged old tax submission as per new rules.
I am sure celebrities do loads of shit to evade tax but this wasn’t their fault that old system was flawed.
