Ozark (Spoilers)

OK cool thanks Shamrock, so spoiler alert…

I’m getting really pissed watching Wendy try and get the new casino and Marty trying to stop her, it’s so dumb and feels like a total waste of my time watching it unfold as eventually I’m sure they’ll get that casino anyway. It’s so annoying to see this unrealistic farce take good story time away. Unless it actually becomes the central point to the whole season I’m going to be done with the show, if they keep it up for much longer. Don’t really care if people wanna respond with small spoilers, you know, to make me feel better about it.

That storyline doesn’t go on for too long. Stick with it, me auld son

Thanks for the advise. I binged it and really enjoyed it. Loved the Darleen story arc. Thought the depiction of Ben’s mental health was excellent. And you’re right, the last two episodes were really good.

Helen getting killed is what I expected to happen at that point, but despite that I loved how they did it. The final shot of Navarro hugging the blood spattered couple, focusing on their expressions was brilliant. Totally lacking in subtlety but brilliant nevertheless lol

Yeah I had a feeling that was coming but I loved that they didn’t really set it up, just BOOM.

No drawn out nonsense, no bullshit soliloquy, just an hand with a gun reaching into the scene and pulling the trigger. Really great.

I much preferred the second to last episode than the last episode, felt there was too much going on in the last episode.

There has to be a real set up for Erin to come back into it now. Otherwise she’s just a one season wonder to take away from the “scary” Helen we had in s2

I dont think it was necessarily taking away from “scary Helen”. Can only speak personally, but I found that her devotion to keeping her child isolated from the realities of her job provided an interesting contrast to where Wendy and Marty are with their kids, and if anything her commitment to insulating her child, and the lengths she’d go to in order to do so, made her an even more terrifying character.

The only thing in the final episode I could’ve done without - and SPOILER warning - is the bit where Jonah confronted Helen. Purely a contrived scene to set things up for season 4.

I’m wondering what the show can do going into it’s 4th season to keep things fresh. It lacks the dramatic aspects of say Breaking Bad to drive the narrative, so what do they do to keep it from simply being more of hey Marty and Wendy outsmart their opponents, as that’s going to get boring quickly from here. The Marty Wendy rift angle obviously has been used up now so there isn’t that. I’m a bit concerned they will run out of ideas.

Look at the thread title mate

Not only will I continue to type the word SPOILER in every post I will do so in CAPS.

It needs one of the Byrdes to die (probably at the hands of Ruth or Darlene)

Well it’s going to need something to change up one of the central characters, otherwise it’s going to get tedious. Maybe now they are proper in with the Cartel they will get a bit darker / sinister.

Great series.

Agent Petty and Ben deserved to bow out better than they did but in many ways fits the theme of the show.

One thing about Ben though - we didn’t actually see him die or even his body. Feel like there’s potentially a ruse at play here.

Nah bro, he’s definitely dead. I think that much is obvious, especially by Wendy going awol for 2 days and drinking 3 L of vodka haha

Man I would hate this atypical non-sense to happen in this show.
Leave that for Prison break.

The last 30 seconds of the season were so tense I almost passed out. I thought for sure the writers put themselves in a corner but having the cartel execute Helen seemingly out of the blue was awesome. Marty and Wendy are in the inner circle of the cartel now. I can’t see a way out for them or even their kids at this point.

Love Ruth.

I kept saying to my SO during the show that I hoped Maddie grew up to be tough like Ruth…minus the drug cartel. :arteta: She is by far the best character on the show.

This would be the worst tv non death since Glenn didn’t die in the walking dead that time. Not as bad as that but definitely the most non sensical since then.
