Oleksandr Zinchenko (Loan: Forest)

I think he’s in a weird spot that’s probably affecting his worth.

I can see teams being skeptical of where he fits tactically given he’s been predominantly an inverted fullback at club level for many years now.
Beyond that his contract expires next year, he’s probably earning around 150k pw currently and he’s injury prone.

Very fair point regarding his contract length. He’d do a very good job for a lot of teams in the top leagues.

If there was one player I’d expect such interview from, it’s Zinchenko, no Saudi team around to give him playing time.

I can’t stand this guy lol

I mean I’d expect any team in the world a level below us to see him as a useful option in a midfield 3. He can also clearly do a more than adequate job as a LB for most clubs too, so really don’t think it’s this part.

once again we’ve done absolutely nothing to maximise the sale value of a player we clearly don’t want to keep. He was available a lot more the second half of last season and got hardly used, even when we were screaming for creativity.

Add the injury risk and his wages, I get we’re not gonna get a huge fee but 15m euros or less pathetic. Could’ve at least taken 20-25 from Dortmund in Jan if we weren’t gonna use him.

Really? I don’t recall him ever speaking on this subject.

Put up a picture of the Star of David with the caption “I Stand with Israel” and also had something in his Insta bio at one point before he removed it all

You’d think he’d be against a country occupying another

You’d think so too but I figure a lot of the Israeli population are ethnically Ukrainian. I think I remember reading that people from the former USSR make up a considerable portion of the population of Israel.

But then I’ve also read that Israel refused to supply weapons to Ukraine at one point too.

So it’s all a bit crazy lol

I think that’s still the case. Also they refuse to impose sanctions on Russia.

It’s all a bit wierd.

Just when I thought it was difficult to dislike Zinchenko more than already.

No sympathy for Zinchenko. Middle of the season, decided to jump on with Piers Morgan and said no Russians should play any sport.

Also promoted a picture to stand with Israel. Zero IQ to be standing with oppressors when his own country is oppressed.

Very strange to hear that and from Gunnerblog of all people, on Tuesday he was reporting that Zinchenko was exploring the option of seeing out his contract here.
Now Zinchenko is crying about his game time in his book.
