Love that guy
Madueke would be one of the worst profiles of an attacker we could get. The least needed one.
We need a striker, any type we need a LW, we could do with a LW/10 hybrid, or a guy who can play on both flanks equally⦠But a RW do dominantly loves to cut inside, a barely ever plays on the left, and isnāt an upgrade on what we have thereā¦
A total waste of funds in the context of our squad.
Regarding Ornstein and about us seeing Nwaneri as a 8/10. Of course thatās the long term plan, but heās been shit so far as a Odegaard replacement and sou donāt expect him to get too much time in that position exclusively.
Playing as a winger, where he actually does perform much better atm, would give him much more room for playing time and developement.
Itās a shit deal on all fronts really.
You still gotta do your duty :vinai:
If Madueke is being signed as a back up for Saka and it doesnāt affect Ethans pathway (which seems to be the case) then Iām happy for this signing to go ahead.
He is a ball carrier, chaotic and is raw in some areas but a good profile to have as depth.
Yes, thatās how I see it. Thatās a good strong squad and more importantly gives us players whoāll provide different attacking options so weāre not stuck with trying to pass everything though the number 8/10 when weāre desperate for a goal.
As said, it DOES affect Nwaneri, impossible it doesnāt. Itās his best position atm.
Ornstein can write what he wants but we all saw what actually happened on the pitch last season, and how Arteta rotates too.
He wonāt get too much playing time unless he plays as a winger too. Unless Odegaard has another big injury this season again, but we all hope thatās not the case.
Exactly
That waffle from Ornstein is crap
Nwaneri has the potential to be a standout talent, Iād rather he get the minutes behind saka.
A front line selection of eze, martinelli, Trossard, Havertz, Jesus, saka, maduekeā¦I mean thereās just nothing special outside saka still.
Itās about as bland a front line as it can get, probably could win the PL with it if everyone is on form but I need something more exciting personally. A winger with some skill like neymar/young Ronaldo who aggressively attacks the full back, or a high level creator like kvara.
As the season wore on it became apparent Nwaneriās influence on games was waning. Not to mention his underwhelming showing this summer at the u21 Euros.
Clear as day that heās not ready. If the club see his best position as an 8/10 then thatās what he needs to be prepared for.
Saka will need a backup and I donāt think youād find too many players better than Madueke who can play that role.
Providing the fee makes sense for us Iām all for this.
So some think weāre looking to sign Eze, a striker, Rodrygo and also this guy
Yeah right
Why the fuck do we need a Chelsea reject every fucking window?
Anyway, like @Bavin said, anything more than 20 - 25 mil and we are doing Chelsea a favour. They got him for 30 mil, which included Chelsea tax.
Sure thatāll happen, but across 2 summers.
I am not sure about Rodrygo tbh. Attitude issues and would want mega money. If Ancelotti had issues with him so would we
Heās the best player available for the LW position
Eze aināt a winger and Madueke has issues of his own and isnāt half the talent Rodrygo is
This kind of signing is so mid, would be yet another summer of not actually raising the ceiling of the attack
Not ambitious enough IMO at all
Even with that in mind, what he shown before was still enough to count on him seriously the next season. Also, he barely had much oppprtunity towards the end of the season. He got totally cut off after Saka got back and was mostly getting garbage time.
Also as a very young player, in full developement atm, you could expect him to do better the next season.
And even if you are looking to cover for Saka it would be much more effective and cheaper to get a new LW who pushes Martinelli into that RW cover role additionally, than to invest directily into a guy who is primarily a RW.
A new starting LW, Martinelli Nwaneri and Trossard as covers, that would be more than fine.
With Madueke, you only cover the numbers issue, while still leaving a huge issue we have on our whope left side of our attack totally unresolved. And I mean the LW and the left 8 combined, their lack of skill and ability to create and make a difference in that whole attacking half of the pitch).
Unless Arteta plans to have Madueke both as a LW and a LW, and Iām quite sure thatās the plan and I doubt Madueke would come here to cover for Saka primarily. To be more precise, he would be a LW primarily in Artetaās plans.
I donāt see Madueke as a significant upgrade on Martinelli. At best. If heās even as good as Martinelli at all, on that side of the pitch.
This doesnāt look good at all, and I donāt expext this do end well long term⦠Unless that small posibility of Arteta turning Madueke into a new Raphinha works out⦠But I donāt see it.
Would much rather go heavy on Eze.
This is clearly going to cost circa £50M. Not a fan at all.
Even with he season Johan Bakayoko had for PSV, the sums of circa £20M being touted, the profile of the player is a round peg in a round hole scenario. It still gives us wiggle room to do more.
Sick of it.
There is no way the club could justifiably spend more money on Madueke than Chelsea paid or even let them break even.
This deal has to be done on favourable terms for us. If we can get him for a good price itās a good deal but not in favour of any deal that sees Chelsea break even / make profit on someone they actively want to get rid of.
So, is Maresca telling us that Noni is in fact, not moany?
Classic coach doing his best to extract the most money for a player heās happy to let go
Right at this point, itās clear that Chelsea has some serious dirt on us, cause there is no way that any top club in their right mind would keep raiding their trash year after year.
Wild.
