I initially thought he would be a flop, but I do believe he’s needed time to adapt to the new league and step up in quality required.
It’s clear he’s making better decisions these days. In the French league he could probably mug off all their defenders; but here you need to worm your way through organised low block defences. He used to have an issue of releasing the ball too late as well which looks to be a thing Arteta has worked on.
Have to take into account he’s had three different managers and a disfunctional team most of the season. Not to mention moving to a new league and country and also having pressures of a big price tag. But I wouldn’t expect the boomers to take this into account. 72m must mean he should be scoring 30 a season from the get go right?

Must be pretty decent now.
I get the feeling he may end up looking a bit like an Arshavin type player - doesn’t do or achieve much for 89 minutes of the game but then does something spectacular leading to a goal or an assist. Often enough to make him worthwhile.
