Mykhailo Mudryk

Exactly, I’m sure he’s a decent player but a good performance coming on as a substitute in a mid table game doesn’t mean much unless he can do it consistently.
I doubt we’d be saying the same things about him if Chelsea hadn’t have outbid us.

I think we can all get behind this. :grinning:

Oh we would though because the rules are if he came to Arsenal we’re gonna be world champions but because he went to Chelsea he isn’t all that really :slightly_smiling_face:

I’ll tweet this to him :+1:

It’s going to be like the Serge Gnabry thread on acid.

It’ll be a race against time for me to close this thread before anyone can post after he gets his first goal for Chelsea.

That shot he put into the side netting, the play leading up to that was superb. I’m pretty happy with the Trossard deal in the context of this season but feel like this guy will be a big miss for us in the longer term.

This guy simply has it, I think he’ll be worth absolutely every cent chelsea paid unfortunately…

I’m getting dangerously close to this moment already lol

That’s if they know how to use him. This scattergun approach has seen unbalance squads and highly touted players becoming straight duds.

Time will tell with Mudryk.

Yeah they are behind Brentford, Fulham, BHA in the table. Added two good pieces, but still have plenty of issues. Reality is that on paper they have had an exciting talented young attacking core for a while. These are two good moves, but isn’t Felix just a loan?

I wish Mudryk stood his ground and insisted Shakhtar take up the Arsenal offer, which the Shaktar CEO admitted was very close to what Chelsea offered.

I feel bad for the kid. He got bullied and possibly threatened so some greasy bastards could get paid.

Yea yea yea 25 mil to the war effort. Spare me that BS or sell me a damn bridge … 150billion$ plus already donated but that 25mil is absolutely crucial.

I Wish him success … seems like a good guy and a legit talent. Here’s hoping Chelsea resume their inexplicable spiral down and he gets his dream move to the Arsenal.

Is this possible? Getting right on my tits seeing and the fawning over this twat.

I’d be majorly pissed if my club was contributing to a war effort, regardless which side it was for.

It was a gesture to help the kid make this “not about money” when he accepts their offer of wages that is probably 2-3x what we were negotiating.

We got blown out of the water on this - could quibble with some of our PR and behind the scenes negotiation and relationship-management, but let’s not make this a close call… Chelsea came in like a wrecking ball and could have at any point in time. Any “demand starts at x” is just as meaningless as anything else in negotiations - Shakhtar were looking for the best deal for them and Mudryk was absolutely swayable with a massive pay rise over Shakhtar and way higher wages than he would have gotten with us. The reason it was “ended quickly with Chelsea” is because we made it clear we weren’t negotiating further.

I wanted the kid, but we have progressively gotten more “comfortable” with more and more insane offer on this case… and one game cameo should not have any effect on that… seriously… the evidence was there that this was a special young player before or else none of this is relevant.

Plenty of players have special ingredients in the younger years and don’t turn into players worth 100 million (although tbh what does that even mean any more?) over their career. We’ll see about this guy.

For us, it means we have Trossard, this young star Polish defender, and another 40-50 million to spend this summer all things being equal. Is Mudryk a significantly better option for our title aspirations THIS year than Trossard? I dunno… long-term, no question we all wanted the Mud-man…

Anyway, Trossard will be useful at least through next year, we got a very talented young defender to even further shore up a strength (and young) and we have money in the bank to make more deals.

If we assume with Mudryk, our coffers are drained to the tune of maybe only 50-60 net to spend in the summer (which is still a lot and very few teams do this), that limits us… if we assume we now have some depth at attacking wings with Trossard covered at least for next year, another piece to give us solid depth and potential in defense, and 90-100 million, that allows us to sell one or two, then go get a Rice and another young attacker (for example).

Let’s chill and enjoy the fact we are top and Chelsea are 10th and couldn’t muster a goal against a mediocre Pool defense that is comparable to BHA, AV, CP, WHU, and Wolves and worse than Chelsea, ManU, Arsenal, City, and way worse than Newcastle.

Until he scores next week.

Anyway, the guy is a mercurial talent but he really is fucking idiot for not staying his ground about coming here.

Would have gotten loads of game time seeing Martinelli’s form and would be playing in a side ready-made to showcase his talent.

Instead, he gets to rot in Chelsea until they find their feet again, likely in Conference or Europe League next season.

Not even a month in the country and a full gane and he’s already trouble. :arteta2:
