Ultimately Salah will rightly want a big contract and naturally Liverpool will be hesitant to want to give a player on the wrong side of 30 a huge deal for multiple years.
If I were Liverpool Iād look at the likes of Benzema, Messi, CR7, Modric, Lewandowski and be pretty happy that world class players who look after their body can still produce top moments well into their 30s.

Salah is arguably the best and most consistent player to have played in the PL and doesnāt get many injuries so they should give him what he wants because they need him.

Yep, it was very clearly targeted and preplanned.
Makes his other comment a few weeks ago about āwhatever happensā look very deliberate too.
His timing ahead of their first tough run this season is definitely not random either. Any time Liverpool drop points from here on out thatās more pressure on their board and more leverage for Salah.
Just unnecessary off the pitch drama for them and whatās worse, heās only one of their three best players who are all running their contracts down.

The point was fair though about the respective positions.
Salah is basically a forward, as was mane and the likes of sterling at city. Different way of playing so comparing old v new is a bit pointless.
Saying that Iād easily have salah over beckham. Ronaldo at his prem peak would be ahead though.

Stats just wasnāt how quality was gauged back then, otherwise Bergkamp is average. But no one would seriously believe that.
Every time I hear someone talk about Beckham, either heās completely disrespected and brushed off as a footballer or heās one of, if not the best player theyāve ever seen.
To me he was one of the better players of his (packed with ballers) generation. Thatās it.
I canāt entertain putting him in an all-time PL team.
he may not be one of the ābest playersā, but he definitely is one of the best right midfielders in the PL history.
He is definitely my RM if it is 4-4-2 formation.
