Take a bow Paddy. Never expected you would do that to Chandler.
That was destruction from Paddy.
Happy for Volk as well
So happy for Volk. One of the best to ever do it.
Honestly, I did not expect Paddy to have that kind of performance against Chandler.
Itās funny cos in the first round I said to my mate that Paddy should look for the knee up the middle because Chandler loves to drop into a semi-squat position both before and after throwing strikes and he is very heavy in his stance when doing it. And then in the 3rd round Paddy landed one and cut Chandler open.
Very interested to see whatās next for Paddy, Chandler was a big step up and Paddy canāt really go back from here in terms of opponent quality.
Iāve never rated Paddy that highly but he looked great today. I still think his striking is a bit sloppy and heās a little reckless but he has definitely improved.
Jones on the verge of being stripped of the title?

Jones canāt be allowed to hold the division hostage. Either you force him to fight the mandatory challenger (and not an ageing Stipe), or you take the belt off of him.
And for the record, I think Jones wins that fight.
I agree on all but the last part
I pray we get to see which of us is right ![]()
Yep, itās getting to be a joke now honestly and Jones is being a fucking knob about it. Like Jules, I think Jones wins that fight(and quite easily) but he canāt reasonably justify being the champ and just not fighting.
Then what do you think is going on?
Perhaps Jones himself isnāt sure he can win that fight, and doesnāt want to retire like that?
Coming up from LHW, Jones dosnt want the smoke of the natural heavy weight elites. He was never fighting prime Ngannou and heās never gonna fight Aspinall.
Father Time comes for everyone and at this stage heās just a naturally smaller weaker slower guy with waayyyyy more mileage on the clock.
Yeah, I think there is a high level of risk with the fight for Jones and to some degree I understand his point about it not being worth it with respect to his legacy but if thatās the case he should have just retired after beating Stipe.
I see Asp clocking Jones and it being lights out, much the same as heās done to majority of his opponents
Iām with @Bavin on this. I think Jones beats Aspinall and it wont even be close.
Like all those guys Jones ran through throughout his career? This is hopeful but Aspinall isnāt exactly an elite striker. Jones has beaten better, faster strikers already.
What about Jones being an elite wrestler? Or will he just not be able to use that against Tom? (who is also not exactly an elite wrestler).
Jones is longer and better in every area of the sport. The only advantage Aspinall really has is youth.
Well the BJJ aspect might come into play. Jones is only a purple belt whereas Aspinall has been a black belt for a long time.
Potentially but imo Wrestling > BJJ. I think Jones would be a black belt if he cared at all about it.
This, Jones trains/ed BJJ with Gracie Barra - I reckon if he wanted to be a black belt, he would be.
Lets not forget that Jones submitted Machida who is a black belt. Belfort was a black belt from the age of 18 and Jones also submitted him.
Over a decade ago I remember reading that Jones started training BJJ as soon as his college wrestling ended. There was also a video, where he said he had gotten good at BJJ but prefered no gi and his coach encouraged that too.
Edit: I can see Jones vs Aspinall going ahead still. I think a lot of this now is mind games and frustrating Tom. (but maybe I am wrong and he is ducking)
Canāt wait to see Bones get knocked the fuck out if he does the right thing and fights
I think deep down Jones probably doesnāt really think he can beat Aspinall and ultimately wants to be compensated appropriately for the loss heās undoubtedly going to suffer.
Iāll never like Jones anyway. From the obvious failed drugs tests, the personal issues and the fact he just never comes across as a decent human being.
I donāt like Jones (as a person) but I dont believe any fighter of his calibre doesnāt think they can beat everyone until they are beaten.
No doubt he will know it is a risky fight, but I cannot see him thinking he will lose - besides any loss will be caveated with he is past his best and I dont think it does much to his future earnings or status in MMA. I think it is a lot of mind games and that he is largely in ācontrolā of when/if the fight happens (which he hasnāt really had before) and is making the most of that.
