oops
He went for payback but Gabi is too strong.
Have a feeling this guy is gonna be quality for us this season.
Our midfield and defence is very, very strong now.
Final pieces next summer and we’re golden for a good 3-5 years.
Finally ready to go
probably says this in the video above
similar to what Rice said when first talking to Arteta before the transfer.

Two schools of thought here - not ideal having just returned from injury but good to build up match fitness as long as they don’t flog him by having him play 90 in both games.
I wouldn’t be that shocked if he were to start against Southampton.
That’s in case Partey plays RB while Timber/White are out.
White should be back, didnt have any serious injury tbh and enough rest for him
Merino could use the games tbh.
Merino was a sub at the Euros so at best he starts 1 of their games particularly given he has only just recovered from injury.
His fitness record is solid so getting some match sharpness will be a good thing here. Not often I support a player going away with the NT but here it will actually benefit us.
No concerns, shoulders are not exactly the most common body part to injure in football.
How did he look in his 30 minutes on the pitch?
Might just be me but I couldn’t notice him.
Very Decent. Needs minutes, but very promising.
He seems quite an attack minded midfielder. I think he found Martinelli with some incisive and quite direct balls. He does look to get the ball forward quickly which I really like. He won a few duels as well, he gets his foot and head in where it is needed. He’s up for a battle.
His passing stood out, a cultured left foot will really bring the best out of Martinelli down that side.
I was pretty impressed overall but I was really looking out for what he was doing so perhaps some of this stuff I am overplaying.
Fucking international break man. Would’ve loved if we kept going and see how Merino settles.
Gotta wait 2 weeks now.
I didn’t see much of him except he seems tidy and disciplined, but generally I’d assume he should be more comfortable in a 3 man midfield when Odegaard returns and we have a 6 behind them.
In a two man midfield we’re playing atm, Rice and Partey look like the best combination.
