To go with your selective memory
I can’t engage with you. I’m sorry, you’re the only person on OA who can’t handle a debate or conversation that doesn’t agree with their world view.
I don’t get it. At least challenge the points like an adult for once.
You’re points are all in the moment horseshit. You are one of the least rational people thats ever been on here. You changed your name to superarsenal to be more grown up. Don’t come at me with the “adult” bullshit ![]()
Well I did join these forums when I was 15… back in 2007… I mean..
Go to literally any Arsenal forum or discussion space and the same conversations and pointers are being mentioned. Everyone isn’t surely wrong here.
Shocker the team that some people didn’t even have Top 4 contenders wasn’t flawless enough to beat arguably the great City team ever.
I presume you’re talking about the games against Fulham or West Ham?
Contrary to popular belief, teams do suffer defeats, even unexpectedly. Only one team has managed to avoid that and they’re the greatest PL side ever.
You won’t find many teams over the years gathering 89+ points and not winning the PL. Ask Liverpool fans, they know the pain.
No other team in this league suffered the injuries we did throughout the season and coped well with it.
City were going on unprecedented losing streaks for a Pep team when they had their injury problems. They went on to spend 200 million in January and it still hasn’t helped their situation much. Still couldn’t save competing for the PL, nor did they put up a fight in the CL. Madrid embarrassed them in the CL.
The Liverpool team that was hitting near 100 points and going to CL finals miraculously secured a CL spot in the last days off an Alisson header.
That’s fair. It was our first true title challenge. Though wasn’t the narrative around City that season that they have dropped off even with the addition of Haaland? or perhaps that was the season after.
Hmm I’m not sure which, you might be right. There was a run of not so good results in the first half of 23/24 that hurt us and made our work so much more difficult in the 2nd half of the campaign.
I agree with your points re: Liverpool and City. Though I’ve been on their boards, they say they’ve had key men out for months too. But Salah was deffo the main difference maker for them.
If the board back Arteta and give him the striker, LW and midfielder he needs, then we should see a big difference next season, especially in front of goal.
I agree, if you’d have said at the start of this season we’d be second in the PL and the semi final of the CL, most supporters would have been happy with that, especially as we’ve had the worst injury list of any other PL team and ridiculous refereeing decisions that have cost us points.
Liverpool haven’t played that much better than us but scraped wins that we might have drawn and also had very few injuries to key players.
We played this season without a proper striker, Saka was out for ages, also Odegaard, then Gabriel and other defensive players, how many other clubs would do as well with those sort of injuries?
As for PSG, they are the Man City of a farmers league, without any injuries, with a bench full of players good enough to walk into most top sides and without some world class saves from Donnarumma, we might have won.
So the football geeks on X have already started their bullshit.
I can’t even be bothered today. I’ll go do something else.
Cult this dude has without winning a major trophy is crazy
They’ll still be singing go again a decade in
He flogged that team to the point injuries were inevitable
And Rice is most likely next up with the way he absolutely gets abused by his coach
Should he have to play every damn game at a better club, matching the extent at West Ham?
It’s cumulative wear and tear that’s being accumulated
When that injury comes people will call it bad luck instead of what it truly is
I forgot, the wear and tear at a better club is more than a weaker club. We had a small squad to start with and then significant injuries all season.
Minutes played gets thrown around a lot, but reality is and forever will be that top players play a lot of minutes
We have a bigger squad than is utilised
He doesn’t trust a lot of them despite them being there and being signed in his tenure
His squad management has been shite,.all bad luck though
Only trusting certain set of players and flogging them to high heaven won’t result in injuries down the line obviously
Do we? the 17, now 18 year old Nwaneri, who he obviously feels is not quite ready. Sterling who looks finished…
Who? Sterling…
I am 100% certain when we sign new players to replace some of the players in this team that those players relegated to the bench will be criminally underutilised like all the others.
