Matteo Guendouzi

The guy has an attitude problem. He done the same with the FA Cup. Hasn’t apologised for his behaviour at the Brighton game. Arteta is doing the right thing by keeping him away from the squad. He is building something special here and I don’t want to see this guy anywhere near the first team again. The player has to go - sell and make a profit on the £7m we invested in him.

Xhaka never apologised though. Not a fan of the kid but it’s a double standard he could use in an argument.

Xhaka had an arguable point though. Guendouzi very much doesn’t.

That’s debatable.

The big difference is Xhaka didn’t to my knowledge try to undermine the manager. Where as Guen has done just that. I was furious at Xhaka, but to an extent I can understand he felt abused and I can appreciate that he’s seemingly buckled down under the new project.

No I don’t agree with this. He undermined the club for me.
Take your point but do any of us really know what Guen has done.

I understand your position. I don’t know entirely but it started with the Brighton game, where aside from being shit choked an opponent and took the piss out of them all game saying they’d never earn as much as him. From what I’ve read he wouldn’t do what Arteta was asking of him in training and he was trying to take the piss making daft voices. Arteta had him train on his own and expected an apology and didn’t get one. From what I’ve read he had a big falling out with a teammate but I forget who.

I don’t like Xhaka or Guen.

The club would be better off without both.

Xhaka was shit but never unprofessional. Guen is being both.

He’s an idiot kid who’s been pampered so it’s not uncommon for him to have an inflated ego, it doesn’t mean he’s beyond redemption though.

If you don’t sell him then at some point this season he’ll come crawling back.

As it stands we’re completely failing to make midfield signings and he’s one of our best midfielders. I can’t see a situation where he decides to spite himself and play for the U23s for the entire season or go on strike for a year and ruin his entire career.

At some point I think it’s likely he’ll put the effort in to get himself into the team, even if he’s just playing for his next move.

16m

No thanks

How many years in his contract?

Don’t be hasty now.

They can have his hair for that fee.

Why would we even give them an option to buy, not knowing what his value will be in 9 months?

Tbf that is double what we bought him for. Still a success.

But yeah I’d want about double that.

Yep.

Need to do what Real Madrid did to us re Ceballos

Yes, I’m not saying I agree with Xhaka’s view, just saying he has a reason in his own mind and its possible to empathise even if you don’t see it his way.

He won’t be sold this transfer window, that’s what I believe anyway.

I can’t sympathize with Xhaka because he’s actually shit and that’s why ppl were on his ass. Guendo just needs to learn some humility cuz the kid is actually a valuable asset.
